“Lively hotel, great location, 4 star”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

Just returned from a quick few days away with my girlfriend in Vilamoura. It was a good start, on arrival we were upgraded from a deluxe room to a suite. The room had a fantastic sea view and double balcony which we loved. The decor is modern and tasteful and I can't imagine anyone not liking it. However, on the critical side, it was a little frustrating that the only drink making facilities - a coffee machine - were chargeable. Not acceptable in a 5 star hotel.

Generally, the facilities in the complex are very good and well maintained. The pool side area is well kept, plenty of loungers and surprisingly quiet considering the number of guests in the hotel. The direct access to the beach is another perk and nice to be able to so easily move between the pool and beach.

Like so many large hotels of this type, the breakfast offers a vast choice each morning but the quality was disappointing. Having said that, it was adequate.

The Marina is a great location if you enjoy some life and vibrance to your destination. It is busy at night with shops open late and many cafes and bars to choose from. It's not cheap, but if you are happy to compromise on the Marine view you can find great food and, reasonable prices, a stones throw away.

Overall, we would recommend this hotel to anyone who appreciates a lively yet safe resort with a stunning marina and lovely hotel facilities. Just one important point to avoid any disappointment - This, in our opinion, is not a 5 star hotel, it is a great 4 star in a lovely resort. Book this hotel with this approach and it will exceed your expectation. The supposed 5 star rating is the only thing that will disappoint you. We will be back soon.....

Our 4th stay in the Tivoli Marina! What can I say excellent location right on the marina with all the excellent bars , restaurants. Puro beach just through gate to the hotel where you can hire hangover type beds with service all day and a dj playing but more chill out tunes most if the day!
Now the hotel is fantastic but book a deluxe room well worth paying the extra. Rooms are lovely with nespresso machine (2 euros a pod) flat screen tv the most comfortable beds ever, mini bar and a beautiful bathroom with jack and Jill sinks and large power shower. Turn down service every evening when they even change your Towels again if you've used them during the day, chocolate, weather report. There is also the most wonderful spa in hotel Agnasa spa where the massages are the best I've ever had (pricey but worth every penny)!
I contact hotel before we go with any requests and Maria who works on reception is brilliant and knows who you are when you arrive any requests are always carried out with no problem ! She's a credit to the hotel. Pool area and bar lovely plenty of sunbeds staff attentive and friendly great for young children , teenagers , couples. Vilamoura very safe for teenagers to go out for the night .19th hole bar brilliant for all ages
staff very friendly and will always help to try and get you a table for the night as gets busy. Chinese next Door equally good food fantastic! Been too spoilt coming here keep saying we will try somewhere else next year but really don't think we will get something in Europe to match up to this standard. Yes is a bit pricey but expect to pay this if staying in a five star hotel didn't hear anyone
complaining of prices tbh. Worth every penny in my opinion!

We thoroughly enjoyed this holiday and would go back again. The service was good, staff friendly but were not overpowering and left you to enjoy the sun, views and walks. We have found Vilamoura rather expensive recently but the area is very clean and we felt safe. We were treat well and there was always someone to help if needed.

Room Tip: The back of the hotel looks out onto the beach and sea which we enjoyed as we could watch the fishin...

We've returned today after 5 magical days. Everything about this place was exceptional. Service/food/drinks/location. Eating out on the deck side bars is a must. We ate in Il lamparo/Akvavit/mayflower deck and peppers. All amazing. Peppers surf and turf is without doubt the best!
The nice bars are not cheap but you can eat and drink for less if you want to.
Purp each is great fun. Lovely food and drinks.
Everywhere we went we received excellent service by friendly and welcoming people.
We will definitely be returning.

Room Tip: Deluxe room, marina view

Views of the marina and sea all from the comfort of our balcony. The room decor is outdated but it is all about the location! and they try very hard to make up for what is missing in decor. Having said that the beds are extremely comfortable. If you like the marina life then this is the spot for you. Restaurants pubs, shops, pizzerias, and expressos all in walking distance. An overall pleasant stay. Thanks to the extremely friendly Tivoli Team!

We stayed for one week to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary as we decided to go back to the hotel we went too on our honeymoon. I was a little unsure when we booked if it would be as good but the hotel and the staff were fantastic and our stay exceeded our expectations. We stayed in a Deluxe with beach/pool view and the view was fantastic. We had a balcony which we were able to sit out on each evening whilst getting ready to go out for dinner.
The breakfast each morning was everything you could wish for or more and the staff very helpful. We found the hotel and our room were very clean with fresh towels each morning and night when our beds where turned down. The location of the hotel is fantastic and you have such a great selection of restaurants all within walking distance. We are just sorry it took it so long to go back and cant wait to return.

Room Tip: Deluxe room on a high floor would be recommended.

I stayed here recently with my partner, the checking in process took almost 25 minutes (ridiculous), the room was average, balcony was enough to house a small army but for one night, a little over kill. I spent the afternoon sunbathing by the pool, staff took a while to see my waving arm for service but apart form that, quick to bring my lunch, kept my water topped up.

The breakfast was vast, plenty of selection, clearly able to cater for all age groups. I wasn't wowed and for the price / star rating I'm a little disappointed. Great location, next to the beach, close to where we had moored.
