“Not What We Booked !!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

I booked this hotel for myself and my partner for a weeks holiday after several recommendations form family & friends. We booked and paid for a double room with a Queen size bed but on arrival we were given a twin room with two single beds. When i enquired this at reception i was told that they couldn't guarantee on arrival the type of room i booked and that if i wanted a double bed i would have to upgrade to one of their suites at an additional cost of €150 per night which was ridicolous as i already had paid for a double room to which the receptionist replied that there wasn't anything else they could do and because everything had been pre paid i couldn't change my venue. Also we booked in for a full body massage each which was to last for 90mins each but we where finished within the hour and apparently the remaing 30mins was our relaxation time which consisted of us getting dressed and 10mins sitting with a fruit bowl - again when we enquired about this we were told we had our full 90mins even though the masssage lasted less than this time. Again the staff were less than helpful and we had to pay for the full 90mins which was very misleading. The hotel is ideally located as it sits overlooking the marina and there is a bus stop 5mins walk from hotel but i found the service from the staff to be less than helpful.

Room Tip: Get in writing from hotel type of room you will be given on arrival as ours was through our booking...

I stayed here with my mum for 5 days from the 21st October and from the moment we stepped through the doors I loved this hotel. Wonderful location right on the marina with views from all rooms either over the Marina or over the beach. We had a delux room overlooking the pool and beach (room 425). I loved it from the robe and slippers to the chocolate on the pillow at night. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Lovely pool area and then you can walk out on to the beach from where you can walk right into Quarteria. Food is excellent, anything you could wish for at the bufet breakfast but a word of advice when visiting Peppers Restaurant if you like your meat very well cooked like me, let them know, as they will err on the pink side, which we found out the first night but excellent all the same. Lots of sofa's and spots to chill out with a book or chat especially if the weather is a bit inclement (we had a few rain showers but plenty of sunshine as well). I highly recommend this hotel and hope to return in the not to distant future. Hotel

Service from the word go was great.

Reasonably priced for this time of year.

Rooms are old and in need of refurb, not moders 5* standard - musky smell, old furniture, but the rest of the hotel is very modern.

Spa is expensive but is very very good.

Jacuzzi needs repair - tiles pealing, steam room not very hot.

Outdoor pool could be cleaner also.

Breakfast is amaising!

Peppers steak house - nice but menu did not reflect the stock and only found out when ordering, duck was quiet bloody also.

Safes are free.

Free internet.

Ideal location

Really enjoyed my stay

We stayed here in late October / early November for a week with our 2 children aged 9 and 6. We had 2 interconnecting Deluxe rooms. It worked really well and the kids loved having their 'own' room. We did have a slight problem on arrival where we were shown two rooms that were already occupied and then, when we finally we got the right room, we had to move after 2 days because the air conditioning broke.

However, that aside, this was a good base for our week. The pool and beach are great, the breakfast really good and the staff are friendly and helpful.

A good tip is to sign up to the Tivoli members programme on arrival as it's free to do and in return you get free wireless Internet and also a free daily newspaper.

Room Tip: Beach side rooms are the best. We had both and on the marina side, you miss the view and the sunshin...

I stayed at the Tivoli twice in 2012; in July and September. Both stays were enjoyable, the hotel is in a great location for exploring the marina area, has a great pool scene and a gorgeous beach with magical sunbeds! The rooms are modern, contemporary and well kept. Each night chocolates were left in my room before returning to bed which was a nice touch. The Side bar has a fantastic atmosphere, chilled music and a great view over the marina. Food in all the restaurants of god quality. This hotel is well deserving of its 5* status.

Room Tip: All rooms have either a marina or ocean view.

FLIGHT
Monarch from Luton . Was on time .

ACCOMODATION
Lovely hotel .
Prime location overlooking marina.
Centre of resort .
Fantastic pool area.
Can't fault the hotel its immaculate .

GETTING TO HOTEL
Had booked a transfer to collect us at the airport but made a mistake and booked one of those bloody shuttles ,waited ages at the the airport and then took ages in a coach with no Air/con .
Took a private transfer with a company called yellowfish transfers on return suggested by another traveller . They were punctual air/con with nice new car .

Would visit again.
