“Shame about check in staff”

We love this hotel, it's facilities, it's position in vilamoura, the whole place. As a person who spends close to three hundred days a year in hotels and as an IHG Royal Ambassador and platinum elite member it saddens me how this hotel is let down by the check in staff. I wrote and phoned to tell them my arrival time but when checking in was basically told I shouldn't arrive at midday, we only wanted to get changed and our bags looked after. On check out the staff where just as obnoxious about getting us out the room and settling the bill even though we weren't leaving until 17:00 hours. The rest of the staff where great and hopefully don't end up being dragged down the same road. This isn't a one off either but the third year in a row that we have witnessed this.

i do not know how this hotel gets 5 star,the evening meals on half board are poor,to add to that we had children aged 9&5 and it was when we complained on the 2nd night they produced the peter pan menu,i would have thought this menu should have been placed on the table for the when a family were seated as a choice no you had to ask for every night,PS get up b4 7am if you want a sunbed round the pool,many have towels on but are not used allday

Excellent Hotel, clean, friendly staff, good food & facilities.

Travelled with my parents & two daughters 9yrs & 8yrs (double room & triple room 19th - 26th July 2013). Within three hours of arriving, my youngest daughter got a bad spell in her toe. A relatively minor issue but very painful for my daughter. The service & support from the Hotel was first class. A car was summoned, we were escorted to the local private Clinic in Vilamoura, and the problem sorted with minimum fuss. The Hotel employee stayed with us throughout & the Hotel sorted the bill. Excellent & much appreciated.

A special mention to the staff involved: Mr Mario Melo, and Mr Johatten Benitez (apologies if I've got the names slightly incorrect). Many Thanks.....

I would have no hesitation in returning to this Hotel......

Arrived in July for one week, paid at check in for room and breakfast but got stopped six times and asked to sign for breakfast, finally on day seven they got it right. Room has coffee maker but no cups or coffee, when ordered they delivered two pods and charged 4euro.My wife bought two large bottles of water at the poolside for 13euro, the shop across the road charged 49cents each.It was impossible to get a sunbed after 7am as all had towels on them. None of us liked being ripped off and i certainly would not stay there again.

I have stayed in this hotel for 6 days with my family.
Never used hotel restaurant, we were dining in the town.

This is a great place for vacation.
Superb location, 50 meters from beauituful sandy beach.
Walking distance to Marina.
Walking distance to many restaurants, bars and shops of Vilamoura.
Several golf courses around.

Hotel renovated 3 years ago.
We have got superior room (not the top of the price list) with great sea view (10th floor), comfortable beds and nice large balcony.
I think all the rooms have some sort of sea view and big balcony.
Everything was in good order, clean and working.
Three very fast and spacious elevators, never waited long or had any trouble getting into.
Very nice, large outdoor swiming pool, sun umbrellas and good quality sun beds.
Pool towels free, exchanged daily.

Noticed two minor down sides (for me):
- there was no in room cattle, only in room cofee machine for Nesspresso capsules (2 euro/piece)
- sun beds or "fat boys" at the pool area were reserved by guests early (even at night) for whole day, so it was hard to find free one in the middle of the day (that is not to blame a hotel but rather its spoiled and selfish guests, that come to 5 star hotel to abuse amenities not minding other people)

I cannot agree with people complaining of poor service or not smiling attendants.
Hotel employees at reception, swimming pool and pool bar were helpful, pleasant and professional.
Late checkout was not a problem.

I don't know what else do you expect?
Definitely better than HolidayInn brand, I would compare it with Marriott Hotel brand.

Once again, the great location is the biggest advantage of this hotel!

I stayed here in March for one night with a partner, the whole process was easy!

The bar is beautiful, service is fantastic, our room was immaculate, bathroom was above expectation, check out was quick and easy - one happy customer.

My only complaint would be the room service, do not order up breakfast, after chasing 35 minutes after ordering coffee, toast and jams the toast appeared - only to be cold and rubbery.

Do not order breakfast up!

Not enough sunbed and the few they had were always taken by people who put their towels on it and keep them all day even though they were not there The hotel should'nt allow this.
Alway had to wait in queue for a
table at breakfast and dinner.
Food limited not a wide choice for a 5 star.
Wifi very expensive, it should be included in the price as other 5 star i have been.
Bar prices was a rip off.
All in all its not a 5 star hotel as other that i've been to.
They should improve in all these things to be a proper 5 star.

I would like to clarify the following:
The WI-FI is free of charge in the lobby and reception area, bar and on the pool and garden surroundings you only have to pay for it in the room.
Due to the high season and occupation sometimes the hotel gets really crowded during the meals.
Also we are conscious that there are still much work to do in order to achieve higher standards and that we will keep with hard work in order to achieve it.
