“Elegant design but not quite comfortable bed.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

At first sight the price is quite cheap. Then we were reminded that the booking coupon from olotel.com is excluding breakfast, which cost 19 euro per person.....

Anyway with free parking and downtown location, there is nothing more to complaint. Except the bed is too soft for me.

As for the design of the hotel, it is artistic and elegance. Quite an unique experience.

I think I got a good rate via Booking.com (two people for two nights) so was pleasantly surprised on entering the hotel. It looked very good and professionally run. Interesting to be attached to a theatre complex (had no problem with noise or disturbance). Helpful in that there is a late-night bar/cafe open largely to serve theatre goers. We enjoyed the breakfast and thought there was a decent and wide enough choice. Nice room for breakfast with large windows looking onto the street. Room was very comfortable. A couple of great restaurants nearby, too (highly recommend 't Volle Bord down the road).

Room Tip: We were on an upper floor facing the road - might have been good for avoiding any noise and had a ni...

Stayed at Hotel Figi for a training event for a couple of nights. Fairly basic with rooms looking a little tired and low quality furnishing and fittings. Plenty of space but feels cold and too basic for a hotel in such attractive location. The breakfast area is ok however a relatively small choice on offer to eat. The bar area is good with atmosphere however quite small considering the size of the hotel. So its just 'ok' for a short stay.

Stayed one night and very conveniently located with friendly helpful staff. Good restaurant but breakfast her very rudimentary - maybe it's a Dutch thing? The negatives unfortunately were that the room was really cold and no thermostat to adjust room temperature and the room generally dark unless you switched on every lamp in sight and even then a bit dingy. Of course then to go to sleep you ha to switch them all off again- have they never heard of a master switch? Will stay there again if only for the staff.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

Spent 5 nights with my family. Booked via Internet at an excellent price, including breakfast, free parking and free Internet. Little daughter has been accomodated in a 3rd bed prepared for her with no extra costs.
Breakfast is excellent and service in the room is also good.
Free parking is notably an important selling point in the full package considered the high parking costs in Holland. Bus stop to Utrecht is just 50 metres far from hotel door.
The surroundings offer the opportunity for several bike rides.
Despite hotel rent bikes, unfortunately they are not equipped with child seats.
A bad mark is the high prices of dishes in the hotel restaurant. For istance, a bottle of mineral natural water is priced at 5.5euro, a real rip off! (August 2012).
Mattresses were too soft and the doble bed were made by two single beds side by side. Bad qualiy of sleeping.

The area is a very nice area of Utrecht suburbs with some very expensive looing houses with manucured gardens. The hotel is fine however not impressive. Rooms are a little old fashioned, so no flat screen TV's, no ipod docs ... actually no thermostat either .. however wifi was free and worked well. So basic room decor with no frills. Restaurant is fine and good food. Bar is rather small but has character. Check in and checkout no complaints and staff all friendly with no errors or complaint, however at c150 euro per night I woudlnt expect any. Hence ... middle of the road ...

I'm customer of the Fiji since 3 years for the business.
Every thing is easy good and clean. I mean the room are well organized clean and comfortable. The restaurant is just good and the breakfast is perfect. Wifi for free...
Their is a bar with good ambiance where you can discuss and have good bier;
To summarize it is always a good moment... I just miss a swimming pool and more TV channel...
