We stopped in for dinner on a Sunday night, looking for a place that could be enjoyed by a diverse group after a long day in the damp weather at Circuit Spa-Francorchamp. We were encouraged to try this restaurant because the night before it had been overflowing and there was not a table to be had. On the theory that this could only mean that it was good, we proposed this place to our fellow travelers. Pity! The service was VERY good, but the food was very common. Some dishes were very bland, others too salty. The red wine (by the glass) had an off-odor to it and a mild vinegar-flavour ... it should have been sent back. There was nothing about the mains to recommend adding dessert, so we didn't. The meal didn't cost us very much, but we didn't buy very much either.
Really, for great Italian in Valkenburg, bypass Lignano's and head around the corner to Il Forno.
