The Chef, although of middle age, has a very long history of cooking. He inherited his cooking skills from his mother which was a renowed Chef in earlier days. The location is still the same, a charming villa in the pittoresque town of Valkenburg. The style of cooking, although still using classical ingredients and preparing them to perfection, not the heaviness of the classical French kitchen but more subtile.
We had a great 4 course meal with tuna carpaccio, lobster, Black Angus beef, turbot, fantastic selection (actually one of the best I had in the Netherlands) of perfectly ripened cheeses for less then €60.
Good wine pairings too. Absolutely recommendable! Ask for the menu 'Lazy Sunday afternoon'.
Absolutely deserving a Bib Gourmand.
