“Probably the best of the Limburg Kasteel Hotels”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

I have attended a number of business functions here. Always well organised with attentive service. Recently I needed to attaned a business function here on my Wife's birthday. So we decided to stay at the hotel and make an event of it.

We arrived early and has a very nice and reasonably priced light lunch at the Bistro.

We followed this by spending the afternoon in the small, but very nice spa. Nice facilities - pool, steam roon and sauna. In addition we had some treatments whci were very well done - maybe a little pricey.

Our room was on the ground floor in the main building. If you want to spend more, they also have some very nice suites and small apartments in seperate buidlings. The standard room was fine, comfortable bed and plenty of space. The bathroom was nice and very clean, but could lacks any "wow" factor.

Breakfast is served in the very light and airy garden room with beautiful views over the parklands. Its s abuffet style menu - hot and cold options and a good variety. It is quite expensive, even compared to most hotel breakfasts.

After breakfast we took a stroll around the chateau and the grounds with its quirky and interesting art collection - don't miss the big rotating egg in front of the bistro / restaurant! Perhaps the most beautiful and spectacular part of the chateau is the very beatiful chapel - don't miss the oppoortunity to take a few quiet moments in this ornate and restful place before you leave.

As always, the staff were attentive and helpful - this cannot be taken for granted in The Netherlands, so full marks for the excellent hospitality.

If you would like to treat yourself to a relaxing couple of days in a beautiful environment with excellent food and a nice spa this should definitely be on your list.

Given the geography of the Netherlands, this place has amazing surroundings, woods and plains to walk your dog, creeks etc. The hotel was very attentive to details, we brought our massive dog for one night, and they prepared pillows and food for our pet, which not many hotel does except charging. Breakfast was very rich, and good local/organic food they use, so that can;t go wrong. We had dinner in the bistro- service was great, the food was really just average so i would not eat there for a second time.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this lovely property. The park setting is just wonderful...flowers, trees, birds and very clever sculptures! We had a fantastic morning hike through the property, across a meadow, through the woods and along the river back to the hotel...it was such a treat. Be sure to bring hiking boots!
We stayed in an apartment which had a patio facing the orchard...a lovely view. The furniture in the apartment was comfortable, but somewhat dated and we found the lighting too dark. However, the staff was wonderful, and quickly brought us two lamps.
We found the staff very friendly and helpful, especially the gentleman who drove the free shuttle into the town of Maasterich . This was a service we really appreciated.

In Limburg you will not find a better place to hide away for a few days and to embrace old fashioned hospitality in a historic setting. Beautiful gardens add to the grandeur of the buildings. We were in room 103 and can recommend it to all: direct access to the garden and a small private place to sit and reflect. Everything in the room worked well but WiFi did not at all. Very nice king size bed. We had twice lunch in the bistro and once in the restaurant. Excellent food, well and friendly served in a nice ambiance. Nothing to comment. We had a massage in the wellness center. Do not expect a large amenity, it is modest but personnel and massages were good. In the Netherlands all of this comes at a price and knowing that we consider what we paid as true value for money. We will remember the venue as one of the better ones where we stayed.

The hotel and grounds are spectacular. Its very old world with pool, spa and church on site. Excellent food and attentive staff. Bikes are available to hire but should be free of charge to guests. An orchestra was playing at 2pm on the grounds on the day we checked out. I definitely did not want to leave it was so peaceful & tranquil but alas with their prices its was time to go.

The beautiful buildings of this splendidly restored complex, with additional buildings where needed, are set in a lovely countryside location in the only hilly part of the Netherlands. The courteous staff could not have been more helpful and considerably added to the delight of our stay. The Champagne buffet breakfasts made a good start to each day and there were plenty of things to explore on the estate and the surrounding country park. There are extensive, well cultivated gardens, an orchard and even a small vineyard. Perhaps a few more gardeners are needed to cope with the immense amount of weeding and hedge trimming required. When we visited there was an excellent sculpture display in the grounds and a corporate hospitality weekend used the chateau as the starting point for a small rally of nostalgic sports cars which was fun to watch. My wife and I didn't use the pool or spa, but others in our party did and were much impressed. We took advantage of the bicycles on hire to see just a little of the surrounding countryside. We had dinner in the atmospheric main restaurant and that was very good. Altogether we enjoyed a comfortable stay at this elegant location.

beatifull chateaux, charmant, hystorique, well cared, but too expensive. Rooms are nice but not new. Breakfast cost 29 euro for each, bike rent 20 euro a day. Be carefull also in both restaurant and bistrot because of the prive. You can taste fruits directly from the threes. Very nice but be carefull to your wallet!
