Het Armhuis has been an institution for several years now but it has reached a peak in as far as it is now a real gastronomic experience: inventive food, fresh, the chef has some serious training or is extraordinarily gifted (or both). The set-menu is a great idea, with some choice, wine list is great. and the charming, somewhat excentric onwer is also worth the experience.
Two words of caution: if you go in the evening, be prepared with some sweaters. In the Netherlands people will dine outside at temperatures at which most people wuld cuddle in front of a fireplace with hot chocolate. Secondly, which makes the first oint worse, even if het Armhuis has been able to shed the Dutch food standard, it has not form the service perspective (maybe it's the kitchen?). In other words, service is friendly, but unprofessional in the sense that there is no rythm, sometimes you have full attention and then suddenly all waiters disappear and you hang there for 20 minutes beggig for a glass of water.
