The Netherlands has many admirable qualities, but adventurous cooking isn't one of them, so don't expect culinary surprises of the sort you might get in e.g. Belgium or France. We've eaten here several times over the past few years as a family. There is a good choice and the food is fine. In British terms, good pub grub would just about cover it. There's a wide choice, all of it as far as we've ever found is well prepared, but it is pretty routine fare (ham and chips, meat stew, etc). There's nothing at all wrong with this, and I'd personally sooner have unpretentious food cooked well than fancy shmancy food that leaves you feeling hungry half an hour after you've eaten. The kids (both of them fairly faddy eaters) always found stuff they liked. The service is good and friendly.
