Hotel De Beurs is overrated rated at 4 diamond, should be 2 diamond based on miserable room quality.
We stayed over night in transit expecting a fairly nice facility from web photos and descriptions.
What we got was quite different.
But the good: The exterior of the hotel, the lobby and most public areas are quite charming. Antiques adorn public corridors, and a reasonably priced high speed shuttle takes you back to the airport. Tastefully decorated the web photos are inviting, but beneath the public view is a different reality.
The rooms are somewhat different, here lies the good, the bad, the ugly. Bathrooms are recently renovated to a nice although cosy level. Marble lines the floor and walls, but the floor elevation has been significantly raised to the point of a TRIP HAZARD. We put a pillow outside the high step into the bathroom soften the problem.
The ugly. Housekeeping in the bathroom is poor, having not cleaned the urine drops from previous persons.
The bad. The room is not at all soundproofed against the nonstop airport noise, hallway noise, upper floor noise etc. The room furnishings are lowest possible cost. Bed is only 12 inches above floor, uncomfortable. Furniture is equally low end 2 by 6 construction, perhaps from owner’s garage. Carpet and pictures are the same low quality. This hotel is overrated, perhaps 2 diamonds would be more like it.
I would never again return to this hotel.
