Good hotel if you need to do business at the airport. Good service and fine room. Shuttle is a good option but you need to pay for it but its cheaper then a taxi. Breakfast is superb with a great selection and nice coffee.

Ideal for business trips and to too far located from Amsterdam centre.

As you indeed mention we provide a good shuttle service between the airport and the hotel. From the airport you can easily take the train to downtown Amsterdam.

I first stayed at this hotel in October 2008, but this time (May 2010) they went above and beyond for my daughter and me. When we checked in May 16, the young woman at reception suggested, due to volcanic ash activity that was closing UK airspace, that we book for a second night "just in case" as there were only 2 rooms left for the night of May 17. She was very efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. And she was right! The next morning Schiphol was closed and no flights were flying. So it was lucky we had the room reserved for another night. This same young woman helped me try to rebook our flights. The hotel let me use their computer to try to rebook online. Our airline was refusing to rebook us to Frankfurt so I had to make a lot of phone calls to other places to try to find flights for the next day. As I was on my way to the airport on the shuttle to try and do this face to face with the errant airline, the concierge came running out to say I had a phone call. They knew who I was and treated me like I was part of the family. This made the problems with the airline and cancellation of flights more bearable with their support.
As well, the room was very comfortable, and when we had that extra day, we got directions and suggestions of what to see and where to go and which bus to catch. This experience will encourage me to stay at this hotel every time I leave Amsterdam by air. It has lovely spacious rooms, a shuttle to and from the airport and a restaurant with a large buffet breakfast. It was quiet and comfortable. And the people care.

This hotel has spacious and comfortable rooms, and upgrades Priority Club Platinum members to its executive floor, which has a lounge with free drinks and breakfast.

However, the shuttle to the airport is not free (it is free only FROM the airport), so using this hotel as a base for visiting Amsterdam is not a good idea. For an overnight at the airport however, I found it an excellent value.

I've written previous positive reviews and again I can't find too many flaws. LEt's start with the negative:
1) limited amount of towels -just 2 "big" ones (not really big), and two small ones.
Location is not the most exciting. They could invest into soft toiletpaper (instead of the recycled one they currently have).

Positive:
For all you platinum members: breakfast is free (in a restricted area with luxurious yoghurts, donuts and champagne) and usually they give you free access to the club lounge (i do have to say, not too much food there - just drinks and between 5 - 8 PM some snacks - very limited, but hey, it's free - so wouldn't be fair to complain).
They have nice small little gym that includes free weights, weight machines, and aerobics machines and a swimmingpool that has tons of kids in it during the weekend.
The rooms on the third floor have been renovated and look really nice. You can plug in your laptop by means of HDMI/etc into special outlets in the tv cabinet.
Breakfast is not bad (expecially while it's complimentary!)

Only thing: location is not great if you're looking to be close to Amsterdam. If you want to be close to the airport, then it's a 20 EUR taxi ride, or 7.50 from the hotel to airport by Shuttle.
You can walk to the trainstation in about 10 minutes and buy a train ticket to schiphol (probably under 2.5 Euros) or to Amsterdam CS for 4.2 Euros.

One of the attractions of this hotel is that it's close to the airport. But I would contest that it's really not worth it if you think you are saving time getting to your next flight. The trains from the city run very often and it's not a long ride at all - I'm guessing 15 minutes. There is shuttle bus from the airport which is free and stops at several hotels. But you have to pay 7.50 euro to get back to the airport! Interestingly someone got on the bus without buying a ticket at his hotel and the bus driver only charged 5 euro. So I guess the hotel is marking up a ticket on a third party bus :-{

The hotel though is very clean and modern. I have no complaints about my stay here. I bought my room using Priceline and still got a good deal when rooms in the city were hard to come by.

BTW, If you want to take the train to the hotel, it's a 15 minute walk from the station.

We will talk to the bus drivers again as the price for the bus is a fixed price which is not negotiable. Also the hotel doesn't do a mark up on the price as you state as it is a fixed price.

Went there for a busines/leisure trip with family. Crowne Plaza calls itself a "luxury" hotel, but it is not. Just the prices are at the luxury level. They charged for EVERYTHING including tap water at the restaurant.

On their website it stated that they had a washer/dryer available for guest use, so we assumed this was true. It was not. When we asked where the laundry facilties were, the trainee had no idea what we were talking about. When we took a copy of their amenities from the website to them, they said that the person in charge of the website oversaw several hotels and got them confused. They offered to do laundry free. We had already done our laundry by hand. Also, there was one price on the internet for wireless service, but another listed at the hotel. Because of this mixup we got free internet.

We talked to some locals and they said that the Crowne was under new management. Obviously, they are still working the bugs out. Most of the staff were trainees and were still learning.

On the bright side, the Concierges were incredibly helpful at all times.

If you go there, take a copy of their website amenites and keep them accountable.

The restaurant was overpriced and not worth the money. If you walk into the center of Hoofddorp, there is a mall with several dining options. If you want to rent a bike from the Crowne, it will cost you 3 euros per hour.

We indeed don't have free laundry facilities for guests and this information will be adjusted on our websites accordingly.

As you know trainees are part of our daily operations as we need to educate the young to make sure we have great staff members for the future who will deliver excellent service. Obviously in your case something went wrong and the trainee wasn't fully aware of our services yet. We have looked at our induction programs and made adjustments where necessary.

I'm sorry to read your comments with regards to the restaurant. We do however have a very attractive priced daily menu available to choose from and which changes on a weekly basis.

I will pass your compliments with regards to the concierges towards them.
