“Nice and bad features”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2011

The room is clean with king size bed, good LCD TV, and nice bathroom, but there is no lift in the hotel and the stairs is steep with 20 steps to reach the floor of the rooms. We stayed in room #1, but despite they have provided two extra beds for our kids, there was no enough space for four persons there: it is suitable only as a 2-persons room. The room was right in front and above a noisy road... it is noisy all night long. We did not try the breakfast, considered too expensive (14.50 euros/person). It is far from downtown, but it is clean and modern, unlike other hotels usually found in Amsterdam at this price.

I recently stayed at Hotel De Herbergh for three nights and will definitely stay there again next time I'm in The Netherlands. The staff are wonderful - very friendly and more than helpful, Both restaurants are terrific - French food in one and Italian in the other - both offering great food at reasonable prices.

The room was a good size and the bed really comfortable. I've stayed in some hotels where the bathroom and/or the shower stall were tiny and pretty dirty but the bathroom and shower stall were a good size and really clean too.

I would recommend this Hotel to anyone I know travelling to Amsterdam - I really enjoyed my stay there and look forward to going back.

Thank you for making my stay so pleasant.

We love this place, have stayed there half a dozen times. The staff is extremely accommodating and friendly, the restaurants both wonderful. The bus is a two minute walk to the Novotel. No elevator but they will help with the bag if you have an upstairs room. It's convenient for a stop-over at Schiphol or visiting Amsterdam. The little town has a grocery store within walking distance, nice walking paths, and a little children's zoo. We look forward to staying there again.

We stayed here during our visit at Amsterdam and really liked the hotel, the staff and the food in the two restaurants. The shuttle to the airport is at walking distance and for free. The room was very clean and large enough. We will come back.

Room Tip: We contacted the hotel through their website

Before and after our holiday we stayed in De Herbergh. 10 minutes with the free shuttle to the airport. Very relaxing and no rush in de morning to go to the airport after a wonderfull breakfast. We have tried 2 times dinner and it was amazing! La Bocca and La Bouche, they serve really good and fresh food. The staff is very helpfull, reception and in both restaurants. See you next time, we're coming back! no matter of some negativ reviews.

My husband and I are in our 70's. We were told there was shuttle to hotel, but shuttle driver wouldn't take us there but dropped us off at noveltel with 20 kg luggage each in the rain. We had been traveling in Europe for 30 days and this was our very worst experience. We were charged $14.50 each for breakfast, but couldn't eat it because we had to make a flight. We called ahead for dinner and were told that they had an Italian and French restaurant. Wouldn't serve us 'cause we arrived late because of shuttle. Finally we got 2 dreadful tomato soups and split a salami and cheese panini - it had been frozen - one glass wine each 39 Euros. Wifi Internet never functioned - desk help left at 10:15 and no one answered phone at front desk - iron gate kept us out.

Room Tip: Avoid at all costs - no shuttle, food, internet

If these guest's would have checked the website, it's clear that the shuttle is at walking distance. They checked in after 10 pm, then the kitchen is closed. We made them something to eat, it was after 10.30 pm, but did not charge 39,00 euro's We do not have an elevator but are always willing to help with the luggage. Wifi does function at all times. This was the most sour respons in 15 years.

Went to visit family and needed to sleep over for only one night. Booked by email, they responded very efficiently. Travelling with 2 kids and a baby. It isn't easy to find a room for 5 people. Asked for a crib but didn't even need it because the double bed was really big.
Sure to go back when returning to Amsterdam!
