“Friendly, clean and convenient”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2012

Sasha is very friendly landlady and it was nice to meet her in person after a couple of emails back and forth. Sasha was very accommodating and very responsive to emails which was helpful when our plans changed.

Like another reviewer mentioned, this B&B is not in central Amsterdam but with a bus running promptly to schedule every half hour, it was not a problem for us at all (plus free street parking was very handy!). The timetable is available at the bus stop across the road; on your return, the bus stop is directly in front of the B&B. In terms of convenience, we could not have asked for more. Bus 145 will get you to / from central Amsterdam (including the museum area) and the last bus back leaves the centre of town back to the B&B around midnight. Cost for a day ticket which can be used for 2 adults was €13.50 (purchase on the bus).

If you like dogs, Sasha might let her 2 very cute and non-jumpy / non-licking dacshunds in to greet you at breakfast time!

The only thing I can say is that I loved this place!
The room is lovely, new and fresh. coffe and tea facilities as well as a microwave, tv and a fridge.
There is a little space outside where you can sit and relax.
The breakfast is very good...a lot of things to eat!
The host was lovely, also she owns two sweet dogs...i loved them!
the bus stop is just outside the door and in 30 minutes will take you directly into the city centre. If you are travelling through Holland by car, you can park the car in front the B&B for free and take the bus to the centre...this is perfect!

Spotless room with a big bed, a small writing table and TV and a private bath. The breakfast is served in Sasha's lovely kitchen and she serves more you can eat - a really nice treat with freshing squeezed OJ, ham, cheese... you name it. The bus stop is litteraly outside the door; though it only runs every 1/2 hour, quite promptly on schedule. You'll need a stripenkart because it's a Connexion bus, not a GVB so don't buy a GVB pass in the center of Amsterdam, you won't be able to us it. The B&B is 3 zones outside the center, ie you'll need 4 strips of the bus card. It takes about 20-25 mn to get to Leideseplein.
It's half way between a hotel and a guest room, because the 2 rooms are located in an annex of the house, you won't see the family and the furniture of the room is more Ikea-issued than old-Dutch type. However Sasha is super nice and informative when you get to chat with her during breakfast.
The one downside is that the recently built annex is not as sound-prrof as it could be. The adjacent room was occupied but a loud, early-riser lady, which was reather unpleasant since we'd rather sleep in. The street is reasonably quite but you'll still hear the cars and buses passing by from inside.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Of course we'd all love to stay in a house overlooking a canal in the center of Amsterdam. But there are a few snags, especially if you're traveling with a family, or if you're on a tight budget, or if you're planning a longer visit and need to park your car. If that sounds familiar, we offer an excellent alternative at our comfortable home in the pleasant town of Badhoevedorp. ... more   less
