“Just perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

This evening at the Latour in the Hotel Huis Ter Duin was just perfect. The food, the service, the wine, the sea view.... A little bit expensive, but worth every cent.

“fine cuisine, nice surroundings, friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

july 2013. we had a nice welcome by a friendly staff, a nice dining-room with ample space between the tables so you have a sort of privacy. Only the live-music is a bit loud.
We had a 6 course menu with at first a very memorable coquilles St Jacques with a fine hint of ginger, really excellent. all the next courses were little paintings with according tastes, only the white fish was a bit overcooked, this was the only (little) error.
For the quality-price ratio we can't say it was impressively good, you have to pay for the excellence in cooking and service, but may be a more simple menu will have a better quality-price ratio.

“Excellent experience during the national restaurant week”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2013

After a long time of mediocre experiences at Michelin star restaurants, Latour really did it for me. We had an excellent 3 base course meal, which we expanded with two extra courses (intermediate course with fresh cod and a cheese platter) and finished with coffee and home made sweets. Five wonderful courses, with both refreshing and savory starter and intermediate amuse-bouches. What I really appreciated is that all courses were substantial: no vague creams and froths but solid tasting dishes with the best ingredients. The most memorable dishes for me were:

- Fresh Dutch North Sea prawns with different preparations of carrot and piccalilli (amuse-bouche (!) with some excellent surprises).

- Creamy and savory potato soup, with crispy vermicelli and a fried prawn (again an amuse-bouche!).

- Different preparations of tuna (starter course with amazing combinations, including passion fruit, pineapple and a macaron).

- A legendary dessert: preparations of pear with salty caramel and honey. Best dessert I had in ages!

The only downside I can find is the bread: Latour offers some great bread variations, but none of them are really crispy. A restaurant of this level deserves the best fresh and crispy crust bread available and they should be able to fix this quickly.

Thanks Latour for a great evening and I will make sure to return again.

“Wow!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

This was unashamed luxury! It was the sort of meal that, if you had seen the bill beforehand you would say "it could never be justified" but, afterwards, you wonder why it wasn't more expensive!

We had ordered only 2 courses (a 5 course menu is available for €79) but were presented with a total of at least 4 amuse bouche (it may have been more - I lost track!) plus the most extraordinary array of petit fours with coffee that made up for not choosing a dessert.

Highly recommended if you have something special to celebrate and, on my recent visit, it appeared to be greatly under-appreciated as we just walked in to take a table and were alone in the restaurant until we had almost finished our meal!

“Best place in and around Noordwijk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2012

Excellent restaurant in the Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin. Splendid view overlooking the Northsea and seeing, weather conditions and time of the year permitting, a wonderfull sunset. But of course you go there for the food. First timer? Take the menu Latour and you will not be disappointed. Creative and wonderfull 4 course diner interspersed with multiple rounds of tasty litle bits.
