“Perfect Place at Palace”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2012

The location is perfect, just 3 min. from the beach and all the restaurants etc. in also just a few minutes walk. The room was modern and clean, staff was helpfull with giving options for dinner etc. Breakfast could offer more healthy options but it looked and tasted good.

2nd time at the Palace Hotel. First time was a rather dark room at the back overlooking a shopping centre car park. This time I went up a grade and got a room at the top of the hotel at the front. Room was light and large, if oddly furnished - two small armchairs and a desk in a space you could fit a nice lounge suite in, with the bed (lovely sleep) off in an annex. If the room was better furnished then I'd have given a higher rating, but as it was the space was wasted and that detracted from the fairly high room price.

Unfortunately for the hotel there are some roadworks going on at the moment so I did have noise from that even up on the top floor, but it wasn't too bad, and it looks like the work is almost finished.

WiFi was expensive at €6 for 12 hours. The other Noordwijk hotels I have stayed at have all been free.

Not a bad place to stay if you don't mind not have sea views.

Room Tip: Try to get a room in the main hotel rather than the annex at the back.

Stayed there for a 3 day conference, hotel was in the centre, within walking distance to the shops and the restaurants. Staff were friendly, although the food want great.

If you are coming to Noordwijk for pleasure or for business, this hotel is a good place to stay. The shuttle-bus to ESA leaves from the hotel. The "shopping street" + supermarket is nearby for supplies. The hotel has a very good fitness center. Breakfast is quite good - with hot foods (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, boiled eggs) and the standard array of breads, jams, cereals, fruits, yoghurts. I chose a more expensive room (20€ more) and it was definitely worth it in terms of having a bath. I was there in the off-season (April) for business and the rate was reasonable. Would I stay there if work was not paying for it? Actually, yes. It was good value and a very nice hotel.

Just a note: if you are here for business and need the breakfast included in the price in order for work to refund it - make sure you tell the staff this BEFORE you check in!

Room Tip: Pay for the next level up :-)

The Palace hotel in Noordwijk, the Netherlands is a very nice and luxury hotel. It's recently build and good situated in the lovely town Noordwijk. It's nearby the beach and the shopping area. The hotel itself offers a nice turkisch sauna, dry sauna, bubblebaths and smal swimmingpool. It also offers several conferencing rooms. The hotelroom was very nice and we had the version with a luxury shower with steam cabin. The breakfast was very nice and offers a lot to choose from. The town Noordwijk is only half an hour driving from the centre of Amsterdam, only 20 minutes driving from Schiphol.

It was the second time I visited this hotel both during a conference.
The rooms were good, the bed was excellent, and bathroom was clean.
However, the TV was very old fashioned, it peeped when it came out of its ' box' at the end the bed.
The snacks served during the conference were excellent, and also when we were served dinner they managed to get it all out at the same time, and it was served warm!
The dinner was not good considering it was a fixed menu for 50+ people.

Like the other reviews say, the Palace is not quite what it's supposed to be. I was there on ESA business and had a room way in the back at the very reasonable ESA rate. The room was pretty ordinary except for the high tech shower, which was certainly nice. No tea service and a tiny CRT television were definitely not up to the standards of a 5-star hotel. I passed on the 20 euro per day parking and instead parked down the street at a pay lot next to the beach. It was November and the lot didn't charge from 6 p.m. to 10 a.m. So since I was away all day at ESTEC, it never cost me anything (I think it's free from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. in the summer). I also passed on the 17 euro breakfast. The staff were generally friendly and got my wake-up calls right. But certainly nothing special. I hear the ESA rate for the Huis ter Duin is the same so if you use the ESA travel service, go there instead.
