“Save your money - this place is a JOKE!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

We stayed at this hotel nearly two weeks ago for one night. We paid €237 to stay in an whoopwhoop EXECUTIVE room, lucky us, I thought...
When we arrived at night after a wonderful day at the beach, we had to pick up our bag in the other building. No problem, then we arrived in a mouldy retro-room that as frequentflyer197 already stated should have been refurbished in the 90s.
It was quite hot in the room, so let's switch on the AC...... Where is it? Let's call the desk, his reply (totally serious):"Eeeeh, the only AC available is opening the balcony door"
OK problem: loud music everywhere outside, no option, switching to another room, not possible.
We had 65 dB in our freakin hot mouldy room until 2 am....... After complaining the next to the staf, there was no compensation nor excuse possible. It just wasn't their fault, so also not their problem!
THE HOTELS OF ORANJE HAVE GONE FROM SOME PRESTIGE TO WHAT WE SAY IN HOLLAND: 'VERGANE GLORIE'
Don't stay here!

Room Tip: Just don't book it!

While the staff are very friendly and professional the Hotel is quite run down. The rooms should have been refurbished 10 years ago.
The location is great - on the boulevard across the beach.
However it is very cheap. In all honesty next time I will try a different Hotel.

Great hotel in a small nice village with awesome beach just outside the entrance.
The rooms were spacious, clean and nicely decorated.

Breakfast and lunch was great.
I think they should expand the free Wifi so that it should be available on the rooms.
Nice pool area with relaxing spa-area.

I stayed with a friend for the Soldaat van Oranje musical. We loved the welcoming receptionist. We arrived one hour early and this was no problem whatsoever. We were upgraded to sea view room which was a nice surprise as well. The room was very comfortable. The swimming pool and especially the spa. Take your time for it! The champagne breakfast was great with lots of choice.
I'd be more than happy to stay here again.

My husband and I had signed up for the "Soldaat van Oranje" package, which included one night's stay, a ticket for the above-mentioned fantastic Dutch musical, an after-musical treat, entrance to the spa (amazing!) and breakfast. Our first encounter with the hotel was during check-in and it became very quickly clear that the hotel seems to save on staff or at least on motivated staff. Coming from a 5-star hotel background I know the importance of staff who greets the guests and it only happened occasionally during our stay, a real pity! After several minutes waiting for the receptionist paying attention to check-in we were asked to check in in the hotel's 4-star dependance, a fair walk away from the main building (check this during reservation). Something that the hotel forgot to mention beforehand. what really ruined the total experience were all of the extra costs, which we feel are unnecessary: for example Internet (€5/hr!), bringing a dog (€40/day) and parking (€ 20-35). The hotel offered us an sea-view upgrade for a reduced price. Very pretty but certainly not enough for us to to visit the hotel again.

Hotels van Oranje is conveniently located right on the Boulevard and the Dutch Coast! The hotel is split between the Beach Hotel and the Main hotel, having individual check-in desks. The hotel offers a variety of services, Beauty salon, Aqua- and Wellness center, Bowling, restaurants and Bars. The hotel has a rich history. Staffing is extremely friendly and makes you feel at home.

Did I miss anything? Yes, having coffee/tea making facilities in my room and bathrobe and slippers require renting, which I believe does not fit a 5 star hotel. But one look at the sea and you've forgotten this!

Room Tip: A seaside room is the best option, though this may require extra payment. If possible, try to get bo...

Stayed here for a conference, which was in the hotel. The hotel is a bit dated, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Rooms were chintzy, with a lot of navy and gold. I had two very narrow single beds pushed together, each with their own duvet. Wouldn't want to come here for a romantic weekend, but I can't imagine going to Noordwijk for a romantic weekend to be honest.

Breakfast was a standard business hotel affair. Bacon, cereals, some fruit pastries etc. Nothing special but not bad either. I did suffer from over-eager staff though. If you can't carry all of your breakfast at once, and want to put it down in stages, you'll go back to your table to find that that full glass of orange juice you just put down has disappeared. So you have to go and queue again, hoping that the rest of your breakfast won't disappear in the meantime.

The conference food was reasonable. There was usually something decent within the selection and some of it was very tasty. It was let down by the lack of decent vegetables. Most days "stir fried" vegetables were provided, which appeared to be boiled, with the flavour boiled out of them.

Staff were very helpful and courteous as you would expect from a hotel like this.

I'm not sure I'd choose to stay here but I wouldn't complain if I had to.
