Very happy we reserved a table at this little place which is a million miles - though only a minute's walk - from the chips & beans, kiss-me-quick feel of Limone's promenade restaurants.
The welcome is polite and friendly and the owners had oodles of charm and made everyone feel at home in fluent Italian, German and English. The menu had lots of interesting things on it that we hadn't seen before, and the house prosecco was very drinkable.
Even though there were a few things off the menu we ordered, and then had to pick a couple of different dishes because the ones we'd chosen were off too. No problem. Then ten minutes later we were asked to make a third choice - again, no problem, because the menu options were so good and they were throwing wine at us apologetically. We ended up having squid & courgettes with sultanas, which was memorable and delicious, and a lake fish on red cabbage.
The waitress was lovely and very friendly with us.
66€ for two people, great value.
So the service was great and the food excellent - although not exactly what we were expecting. But despite that we'd definitely go back.
