“Comfortable aparthotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

Very comfortable, functional rooms. Very friendly staff. Large spacious room. A fully equipped kitchen. If there was a need for something more, the staff brought everything that was required. I liked everything. The only thing he is 5 km from Siena in the industrial area. There's nothing to do. It takes 10 minutes by car from Siena.

This modern, very affordable hotel lies in a quiet residential area just off the wonderful city of Siena, you need a car to go anywhere but it is perfect to visit the city or to serve as a base to explore charming Tuscany. We found huge rooms (not less than 35 sq. mt. each, I would say), very clean and kept in perfect order. Each room features a kitchenette (with free daily replenishment of coffe, tea, biscuits, jams and so on) and a 50 in. flat TV. Bathrooms are not as large as rooms but are OK, with toiletries regularly refilled. Large balconies, free Internet connection and free car park. Staff friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended.

Room Tip: No particular suggestions.

Very large room, large flat tv, very convenient wi-fi access from the room, large balcony. In the end, I liked it very much.

Criticism:
1) The window-less toilet were smelling a bit too much - I suppose that the plants are not properly working 2) on the second night, next room made a party till 1 am, with guests not registered in the hotel. The guests left, and the couple occupying the room made noise (moving back furniture I suppose) till 1.30 am. I found that nobody of the hotel is available during the night. The reception shuts at variable hours (I suppose when all guests have arrived) and there is no phone to call overnight in case of problems. So, during the night it is up to you: in case of problems, nobody to call. The day after I informed the reception that if the party was to occur again, I was going to call the police. However, the party did not repeat.

Very reasonable priced hotel/apartment about 10 minutes from Sienna. Located near to main road so great base for seeing Sienna and surrounding towns. Large rooms with basic kitchen facilities. Adequate breakfast. Ideal for families. Location nothing flash as mentioned before but if you are planning to be out exploring all day it is ideal and very cheap

We were a family of 2 adults and 2 teens.

The hotel is located in an industrial area, on the second floor. Looks like an office floor that was converted into a hotel.
Be aware that reception is in operation till about 22:00, so do not plan to check in late.

Room was spacious but basic. It has a small kitchenette, but no cutlery.
Breakfast: In the room you will find few ingredients. In the morning they provide in the corridor some additional hot and cold food. You have to collect it by yourself and bring it in your room. As there are no trays, you will need to go to and fro several times.
The family-run restaurant downstairs outside the building is nice.

This hotel is very American and not Italian, and I feel that I can say that since I am an American who has lived in Italy for the past 5 years. It is a totally sterile atmosphere in an ugly little industrial part of Siena and has no local personality at all. However, it is half the price of all the other accomodations in the area and that in itself is remarkable. It is very clean. The first night we could not close the shutters on the glass doors but they let us change rooms without a hassle. It was strange that the one staff member leaves at 9 PM and anyone can enter the hotel at any time during the night with no keys. The free breakfast is actually in the room when you arrive so you don't have to get up and get dressed at a certain time to eat it. The maid service does the dishes for you which is different than most hotels with kitchenettes that I know of. They strongly recommended reserving as far ahead of time as possible, directly with the hotel itself, and you can get a much better deal for high season stays. I would stay here again if budget was an issue.

  • Liked — location and cleanliness
  • Disliked — first front desk person that we met
  • Tips/Secrets — reserve way in advance directly with the hotel

Last Summer my wife and I really wanted to show our four children Siena. Needless to say, the cost of staying anywhere in the centre was somewhere in the NASA moonshot category. However, this hotel was fantastic! It's main USP is that it is cheap, but it is also clean and funky (lots of modern art on the walls). My kids (age range 10 - 4) loved the roof top pool and the playground outside. I thoroughly recommend the hotel as a base for Siena. Badesse itself is a strange place that I never quite worked out. It is quite small, very modern and appeared to be totally deserted. It seemed to be where the workers of Siena lived, but I'm just guessing. Either way, nothing seemed to be happening outside of the hotel, but this didn't matter because it's a great base for elsewhere. We stayed there for three nights before moving on to the castle at Montegufoni for a week. It meant that we could see Florence and Siena properly. Best holiday I've ever had!!!
