“a wonderful place and a wonderful week”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2011

my sister and brother in law were married at Montecastello in May and us the family all stayed there for a week either side. its a picture perfect place - great views, great accommodation, Jens and Barbara were great hosts - helpful and friendly making sure we had everything we wanted (even arranging massages for the tense the day before the wedding). I cannot recommend this place highly enough both for a holiday and as a wedding venue (the wedding food was terrific and a personal highlight was that the location meant we had the freedom to party on deep into the night). I've got a load of amazing memories of that week.

Room Tip: tidy, showering facilities were great i slept well every night

A visit to Villa Montecastello will take your breath away. The accommodations, the views and the service were truly exceptional.

My husband and I just returned after a week stay at the Villa with our children, ages 5 and 7. We found the accommodations to be even more beautiful than the photos suggest. The rooms were spotless, very tastefully decorated, and offered all modern conveniences, minus the unnecessary t.v.

The views from the Villa were absolutely gorgeous. And the grounds were alive with blooming flowers and herbs. Most importantly, the owner and the staff were incredibly accommodating, informative, and friendly. They went out of their way to make sure every request was satisfied. They even took my daughter in the mornings to walk the horses and feed them. She was thrilled!

The beauty of the property and the gracious hosts made for a very memorable holiday. We very much plan to return and without question, highly recommend a visit to anyone visiting Tuscany.

Villa Montecastello is a beautifully restored Tuscan hilltop villa, with stunning views to match. It is 2km away from the nearest road and is completely tranquil, so perfect for 'getting away from it' and totally relaxing.

The self-catering apartments are very spacious and well appointed, with an added bonus - no TV! While the accommodation is self-catering, Montecastelli is a working farm, and a cookery school, so some catering can be provided. Other than that, there are fantastic local wines, home-produced meats, and absolutely incredible home-produced olive oil - all to hand.

Perhaps the best thing about Montecastelli, however, is the service. Everything has been well thought-out and no request is too much trouble. Despite running a farm, and 3/4 different businesses, the owner Jens always seems to be available to help.

We definitely plan to go back - hopefully every year!

The views from the bedroom windows were exceptional. The charm of the Villa something out of the movies. Family meals around a glowing fireplace at night. The whole experience was magical and wonderful.

Thanks again Jens and team for a memorable stay in Tuscany. Sue and Chris' wedding was fantastic and you really rose to the occasion. We can't thank you enough for making our stay at Montecastello comfortable, relaxing and entertaining. Hope to see you again next year! The piano was a real treat!
