We booked our holiday through a travel agent with Thomas Cook and it was sold to us as a luxury 5 star My Style Holiday, which it most definitely was not. The majority of the sunbeds around the pool were broken, the cushions lumpy and often dirty; the sunbeds on the beach were basic mesh beds, no cushions at all and not in good condition. The area around the pool was not cleaned every day, and was sticky from split drinks. We had paid extra for seperate rooms, which were not available on arrival, I had to sleep on a sofa bed for 2 nights; not acceptable when you have paid £285 each extra to have own rooms, on top of £767 for the holiday. Had we paid around £400 in total, that would have been nearer the mark! We were only allowed a clean pool/beach towel every other day, something neither my friend or I have ever come across before. The music played at the pool bar was loud and thumping, more suited to a nightclub than a relaxing luxury holiday, and when the staff were asked to turn the volume down, they turned it up instead. Our rooms were not cleaned, just the bins emptied and beds made. I had to ask for used glasses to be changed, but they weren't changed again and the glass in the bathroom wasn't changed during the whole of the stay. The bed cover had marks on, although the sheets and pillow cases were nice and white and were changed. There was quite a lot of choice for the meals, but they were buffet and not particularly hot. Mandolis on reception was the best member of staff there, very helpful and pleasant. One of the pool bar staff was friendly, as were a couple of the waiters/waitresses, but the majority of the staff were rude and miserable. It is now a Sentido Hotel, which is a German chain and it was very much geared to the German tourist. Towels were put on sunbeds the night before to reserve them! We hired a car in advance from Rodos Cars for two seperate days, and they were fantastic, absolutely brilliant service and I would highly recommend using them and booking directly, not going through a rep. We spent one day driving around the south of the Island and the second day doing Rhodes and the top of the Island. There is some fabulous scenery and hiring a car and taking yourself is a great way to see the Island. We also had a day out on Captain Mandolis Boat, which was absolutely fabulous; 25 Euros, worth every penny. Take money for lunch in Haraki.
Rhodes is beautiful and well worth the visit, but I would not stay at this hotel again.
We had a massage, which was very good.
Rooms at the back are quieter.
