I stayed at this hotel with my boyfriend in the last week of June. Our holiday was amazing! We stayed in a Deluxe room with sea view (6th floor), the room was lovely, modern and huge! Our balcony was massive with gorgeous views. The beds (although two twins pushed together) were the comfiest beds I've ever had in a hotel.
The first day we were there we slept in until around half 10 after our late flight and were disappointed to find that there were no sunbeds left by the pool! So my advice would be to get up early and lay out towels before heading for breakfast - that may have just been a particularly busy week!
Pool area is lovely, the pools are a little chilly and shallow but really nice, and just what you need after sunbathing in the high 30s! As others have mentioned, the bridges over the pools can be very slippy so be careful. Only ordered from the pool bar twice - very nice and pool staff are excellent, but we preferred to buy drinks and snacks from the supermarket as they have no restrictions on eating these round the pool.
The breakfasts are the nicest breakfasts I've had abroad. There was a huge selection to choose from and I had something different every day - my favourites were the waffles with chocolate and coconut! The restaurant is lovely with great views and staff are all friendly - Christos in particular was great, always had a smile and a nice word for you.
We chose to eat in the a la carte restaurant on the 9th floor (Porfyra) once where we were given a table next to the huge windows to watch the gorgeous sunset. Special mention must go to our waiter, Antonis, who was attentive to our every need and very friendly! I had a lovely pasta and my partner had salmon, both meals were fantastic and reasonably priced.
As we were only bed and breakfast, all other nights we went down onto the main strip in Ixia. A nice 15-20 minute walk to build up your appetite depending how far along the strip you go - our favourites were Romeo (Mexican/Italian/Greek food) and Elysee (traditional Greek) which both had great food and service. Didn't have a bad meal the whole week, and went to some fun bars for drinks afterwards - particularly liked Luna Bar and Caballero for the karaoke nights!
We walked into Rhodes Town once and it took us around 50 minutes from the hotel - a nice walk although not well lit if walking at night time. If going for a meal/evening out I would recommend the bus or taxi, both easily accessible from the hotel and reasonably priced.
We didn't venture to the beach although I really wish I had tried some of the watersports on offer. We loved the hotel so much we mostly stayed around the pool and relaxed!
Our flight back wasn't until 5:45 the following day after checking out at 12pm, so we had a LOT of time to kill! All the staff were really helpful, kept our cases for us and didn't mind us lazing around on the huge comfy sofas in the lobby for hours! I think you can pay to keep your room for longer but we didn't think this was necessary, as most of the day we spent laying/napping round the pool.
This holiday was just what we needed - perfect for chilling out after a busy few months. We are a young couple (22 &23) and it was great for us, if you are looking for a really lively hotel with entertainment every night this isn't for you - no entertainment in the evenings, but it is not that type of hotel. There is plenty to do in the area and we have been recommending it to all our friends and family.
Thanks for a wonderful stay! Will hopefully be back one day...
