What a pleasure. Couldn't have found a better place for our 4 days in Jerez. Perfect location, perfect accommodation and perfect host. David is great, never intruding but always there when we needed him. Has great tips on where to eat and places to see, not only for Jerez but for Seville where we went to after out stay.
We were lucky to have the place basically to ourselves. The rooms are spectacular and the breakfast on the terrace was ideal.

We spent three nights at La Fonda Barranco and enjoyed it so much we came back for a fourth night later that week before leaving Spain. The glowing reviews we read here are absolutely accurate. David, the owner, does everything he can to make you feel at home in his beautifully restored B&B. He walked us around town to point out the best restaurants, arranged bodega visits, suggested sightseeing itineraries, and wrote down a list of vegetarian dishes for me to try while dining out. He could not have been more gracious and welcoming. We truly felt as though we were staying with a friend, and indeed enjoyed David's company as we would that of a good friend.

Every hotel from now on will be compared to my stay at La Fonda Barranco. The hotel itself is charming decorated authenically and beautifully. The owner, David, was the most perfect host. Staying there you feel as thought you are visiting a close friend or attending a dinner party. David, goes out of his way to make sure guests know where they are going, see the most interesting sites of Jerez, eat at fabulous restaurants and have a good time in Jerez. Every detail of our stay was well taken care of by David. We had breakfast when it suited the group best and wine available after a long day of exploring Jerez. We travelled as a group of wmen taking over this boutique hotel. I know all of us left feeling like we made a friend! Thank you Daivd!!!

Room Tip: Definitely ask David for recommendations on sites and restaurants in Jerez and surrounding areas. Yo...

Our group of 13 women took over this small chic bed and breakfast for 3 nights - and - it felt like "our" home! The proprietor made sure that we were comfortable - every little detail was just right - he had extra power convertors, coffee in the evening that we arrived jet lagged, water bottles by our beds and extras as needed, wine in the lobby if we wanted, suggestions for the best places in town, and walked us to dinner one night where he insisted we try! Jerez would not have been the same without him!!! Thank you for our lovely stay!!! The Inn is beautiful to every last detail you will not be disappointed!

Firstly , let me say that my Cousin owns this small boutique hotel in Jerez. So I was a bit, well anxious, what if I did not like it, I could hardly complain about the service or the room or anything. So we booked for one night and arrived in Jerez, found the place really easy to get to. Greeted at the door by David and the first impressions were great. The room was cool, roomy and very clean. The bed was a very good size, I am not a small person, so I like a big bed.The temp outside was in the high 30's yet in the hotel it is perfect. The location of the hotel is great as the centre of the town is 3/5 minutes walk, all the Tapas Bars restaurants you could want. Jerez is a gem of a place and the hotel so relaxing that we stayed two nights and will surely return. Cadiz is not far and the ferrry from Puerto De Santa Maria is well worth the trip, spend the day there and then return to Jerez. I loved the place.

I decided to take my daughter away for a couple of nights for her birthday. Having stayed at La Fonda Barranco once before for a concert at Gonzales Byass I decided to stay there again. If you want a place which is calm and peaceful yet within walking distance of the bodegas and centre of Jerez look no further. David, the owner, goes the extra mile to be helpful, gave us a brilliant tip for a restaurant and we returned for a second time the next day to La Cruz Blanca. Breakfast delicious on the roof top in fine weather.
We will be returning here in the future.

Based on the reviews below, we booked two nights at La Fonda Barranco - and were certainly not disappointed. It is a peaceful, centrally-located B&B that is the ideal base from which to explore the beautiful city of Jerez de la Frontera. We enjoyed superb hospitality from the knowledgeable and welcoming owner, David, who kindly offered to walk us to the main square on our first night, recommending some first rate restaurants and tapas bars, and even giving us a 3 minute crash course in choosing sherries (before our visit the next day to the nearby bodega that he had recommended). All the rooms we saw were stylish and well appointed and breakfast on the roof terrace was generous, fresh and tasty. Free wifi is available, although the signal is a bit patchy unless you are on the ground floor. David was an excellent host and a few days after our visit we had no hesitation recommending La Fonda Barranco to relatives who were going to Jerez the following week.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
La Fonda Barranco is a Typical old merchant's house in the heart of Historic Jerez. Built on an ancient site in the oldest part of the Islamic city. The house mostly dates from 1865, but parts of it predate by several centuries. Each room is subtly different and opens on to the central marble floored and plant filled atrium. Although mantaining all the characteristic features of the original building, all rooms have moderns amenities such as air conditioning and wifi internet access. We also have a room adapted for clients with special needs. Breakfast is served on our roof terrace with the magnificent view of the Cathedral. With only 8 rooms and 2 studios La Fonda mantains the ambience of a private home. For this reason it's particularly suitable for group booking, having the feel of an exclusive house party. We have a non smoking policy through out La Fonda, however smoking is permitted in the upper open air terrace area. ... more   less
