Owner description: The Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art Foundation, in Jerez de la Frontera, is famous all over the world for its show called "How the Andalusian Horses Dance", a unique exhibition of horsemanship which both exhibits and summarises the work which the institution has carried out since its establishment. Although the show "How the Andalusian Horses Dance" may be considered the highest attainment of the School's work, there are other aspects which are regarded as equally, or even more important, for the Institution. Among these, we would like to highlight its role as a social and cultural vehicle for our equestrian heritage, the selection and promotion of horses, the training of Haute Ecole riders, the preservation and promotion of Classical and Country Dressage (Doma Vaquera), maintaining the prestige of our horsemanship, the breed of our Spanish horses, our traditions and culture. Furthermore, the show enables the Royal School to play host for the Province of Cadiz and to act as ambassadors abroad on annual tours to various foreign countries. In addition to the show, you might enjoy a visit to our training facilities as well as the Museum of Equestrian Art and the Carriage Museum.

“Very Impressive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013

Really can't add much to what others have written about the good points of this attraction. We attended on Dec 26, so the audience was light. Very close. Small ring. Very impressive. We pre-purchased tickets and once their computers woke from their Christmas (25 min delay) everything went smoothly. FYI, they close the gates to the bigger souvenir shop after the show is complete. We anticipated buying on the way out and missed the big shop. Of course, there is a shop under the stands, so we could still support the Spanish economy..

“Great attraction, slightly expensive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013

Beautiful horses and pretty grounds. The tickets were slightly expensive for training only, there was no show on the day we visited. I'd still recommend it though!

“"Breathtaking Horses"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2013

I have actually been here three times and each time it was a very enjoyable experience. The show is a must as is a visit to the stables. If you are a horse lover and you are visiting Jerez then you cannot let this one pass you by.

“Glorious horses!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2013

A beautiful environment, breathlessly gorgeous horses. I was moved to tears by their elegance. It's easy to see why the Habsburg Emperor saw this and said "I want that!" and founded the Spanish Riding School in Vienna. This show is as good, but much more affordable than the one in Vienna.

“Beautiful horses”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2013

We did a tour of the stables and tack room and were able to watch the horses being trained both inside and outside. The tour was very informative with information on acquesition and care of the horses, feeding, vets, training, different saddles and tack, etc. and a chance to ask plenty of questions. Stables are immaculate and the horses are in great condition and look like they are very well cared for. The school only takes 6 new students a year so the performers, both riders and horses are the absolute elite. With regard to running free in fields that could be said about any aspect of equestrian performance, show jumping, racing, etc and to achieve this level of performance there must be a close relationship between rider and horse. The animals are beautiful and intelligent and I would not have missed this visit. Only sorry we could not fit in an actual performance. However I believe a troupe of the horses are to be performing in London next year. Included in tour are lovely grounds and castle. Castle is unfurnished and only ground floor open to public but worth a look for decoration alone. Small well priced cafe and very little gift shop. Memorable visit.
