Spent 4 days here. There's no doubt about the welcome and the local knowledge - Monika and Lola know their stuff. And, unless you're fluent in Spanish, it's a real help to get the gen in your own language. We settled for an "inner" room (the courtyard is open but the aircon was very efficient anyway).
Found a cheap eaterie ourselves first night (to Monika's horror, but the swordfish a la plancha wasn't that bad!) - and said we'd be looking for better the next night (our wedding anniversary). We went by train to Sevilla next day and got back to be given a half-bottle of Cava in the room to celebrate. Had a starter at the fish restaurant Monika recommended (La Marea) but too many people were smoking outside and we moved to Bar Juanito. Lola's choice the next evening was La Cruz Blanca, where you had to queue for a table, and it was easy to see why (we went back the next night).
Lots of good reasons to go - in fact the only reason to lower a mark would be on value for money, when (at the time we were there) even a double room in a 4-star hotel at normally 245 Euro a night could be had for 55! Still, we were very glad to have gone with the flow on here.
