“Excellent even on a rainy night”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013 via mobile

Jerez was quite deserted on a very wet October night. There was no one in the restaurant which had been recommended by locals. We received a warm welcome. We ordered steamed mussels which were very good and octopus which was excellent; even better than that we had in Galicia a couple of years ago. Very clean and cleaner still as the dearth of customers on such a wet night left staff deep cleaning, in good humour, the white chairs.

“Excellent octopus”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

Great little fish restaurant in the main square of Jerez.
We had mussels deep fried and octopus which was so tender, best I've ever eaten.
We choose them all in a tapas size and also had the cachelo(potato).
The waiters were very helpful translating the menu and looking after us.
Great prices too, always a bonus.
Will return.

“This place needs more reviews”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

We ate outside. It is just off the main square. Great service and food. Especially loved the cod...just gorgeous. And the pimentos de padron. Ate two aboslutely excellent meals in Jerez and neither could be faulted. Plus great value.

A very busy restaurant full of locals with a wide variety of tapas. Good value with good portions and good selection of wine.

“The Octopus place. Fantastic food in a casual ambiance!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

The Octopus place per se. It is palace where the product focus is on the fish and in particular on the octopuses. Boiled, grilled, braised. We had launch outside and tried the Octopus al plancia with potatoes and Bacalau in tomato sous. Both dishes were served with very tasty bread and in abundant portions. Very delicious and tasty. There are tables also inside where you can have tapas and drinks at the bar. The kitchen is not closed and you can see a big part of the cooking process in front of you which also brings to the authentic atmosphere. The place reminds to the emblematic restaurant "Da Pepi" in Trieste, Italy where the same casual and delicious cooking was applied to meat instead of octopus and fish.
