This is everything modern tapas should be, and if you need a reason to visit Jerez other than the old town atmosphere, the sherry bodegas and the flamenco, then Albala is enough on its own.
Don't be put off by the English menu, we had the "outbreaks with creaky chicken" which turned out to be a variation of Caesar salad with crispy sesame coated chicken.
You can't really go wrong whatever you order, and the specials board was particularly interesting with tempura artichokes and duck risotto (an amazing dish). I can't also not mention the "recuerdos de traguchas" (sp) which turned out to be a perfectly presented cake of pate, goats cheese, apple with a caramelized topping and apple and nuts puree.
Don't miss out on the desserts, these are fantastic as well, and the wine list is very reasonable.
We will be back as soon as we can.
