“The best of Jerez”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

We traveled from the states and stayed at this clean and fantastic luxury hotel for almost two weeks.
The service: The multi-lingual staff go out of their way to make you happy in every way. EXCELLENT!
Traveling around Jerez or to nearby Cadiz etc? There is a Europcar car rental service inside the hotel.

The food: There is a Michelin rated restaurant on the premises open every day for dinner. There is also an all you care to eat buffet style restaurant with food cooked to your specific order open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And let me tell you that the food is EXCELLENT.

Need a drink? There is a very well stacked bar on the premises as well that is staffed with waiters dressed in tuxedos ready to serve you in the bar or as you lounge at the neighboring pool.

The only problem was the key card to our room had to be reprogrammed every few days for some reason. But with everything else so great this seemed minor.

Overall, this is a must stay if you are traveling to Jerez!

A Huge Bonus is the free ParkingThe Ala carte resturant is good value and offers a fine atmosphere but the buffet resturant offers a poor choice in the evening But a better selection for breakfast
The Hotel Pool and Gardens are a delight and the pool bar offers tasty snacks at reasonable prices.

Room Tip: Pool facing rooms are good and quieter

Just had a fantastic weekend. Hotel decor was luxurious. Rooms comfortable with all needs catered for. Our room was at back overlooking garden, very peaceful with lovely sunny balcony. Had meal in the Hotel restaurant which was superb, beautifully presented and brilliant service. Will definitely return, & definitely recommend.

Overall hotel is clean, fairly modern, has good facilities and is fairly central in its location. My only problem was with the service from the reception desk. There was only ever one person serving. Not a major issue but it meant that a simple question took a long time to get an answer. They need to sort this if they want a higher score...it's the first impression people have.

The Sherry Park has many agreeable features not least of which is the two-storey architecture and large airy common spaces and corridors. Such a refreshing change from the battery hen accommodation one usually encounters at modern hotels.

Equally pleasant are the trees and shrubs which populate the grounds and offer shade around the pool and attract a variety of birds. We stayed 10 days at the end of May. Our room was a decent size, decently equipped and had a decent sized balcony overlooking the pool.

Perhaps Spain's ailing economy had forced the hotel's management into believing it is possible to operate a 200-bed hotel with a skeleton staff and have, for instance, one check-in clerk who also doubles as the hotel concierge, or close the outdoor pool because they haven't hired a lifeguard.

Similarly, if you wanted to use the gym, you had first to get the key from reception. The reason for this was given as an open gym could be a hazardous for children. Next door to the gym is an indoor pool. This was left unlocked. Presumably a metre depth of water is less of a threat to kids than a treadmill.

The hotel is an easy walk into the city centre and Jerez's famed equestrian centre is just around the corner. Car parking is free, often it is not. And you don't necessarily need to walk into the centre to eat good tapas.

Opposite the Sherry Park on a street running parallel with Avda Alvaro Domecq there is a good selection of bars and restaurants. Avoid the bar on the corner by the hotel's entrance. It is a rip off.

Avoid a room at the front of the hotel and within earshot of this bar. The bar stays open to 6 am and post-midnight it becomes an open-air disco serving over-priced drinks.

Despite the disappointing staff to guests ratio the Sherry Park has so many pluses, it remains an attractive proposition.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool hog the sunshine and are quieter.

We have stayed a number of times in Jerez at other hotels, but following a recent 7 night stop, Sherry Park gets my vote. Nice pool in a wonderful setting, the rooms all had balconies and whilst not massive were perfectly big enough for 2. The bathroom was a great size, two basins, brilliant shower. A good proportion overlook the pool, ours was at the front, but because the hotel is set back so far from the road (with plenty of trees) there was no apparent noise from the main road. With the many fantastic restaurants and tapas bars around jerez, we did not eat in the hotel apart from a snack at the pool one lunchtime and a few 'express breakfasts' which served from 1030am at €4 for toast, juice and coffee suited us perfectly. Approx 10 min walk into the town centre and along a main road, so felt totally safe even in the early hours.

Perfectly pleasant hotel, but nothing special. Good location to explore Jerez. Rooms fine, showers with lots of jets, Sky News on the Tv, very nice pool area (and an indoor pool as well), large free car park. Staff friendly. Wi-fi is free but getting the passwords is rather laborious (one per device, new one every day, etc.). Food in the poolside bar pretty poor, and the service is confused and painfully slow - eat lunch somewhere else ! Breakfast buffet good, but don't lie-in - by 10:30 on the dot, they're clearing up around you.
