“Loved it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

Beautiful building, great location, great food and drink. Spot on. Slighty amazed anyone would give this less than 4 stars. I give it 5. Can't fault it for anything.

“Not as good as the guidebook suggested”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

In a town like Jerez where there are countless tapas bars and tabancos to choose from, to me, the only reason for using this restaurant would be its location - right in the middle of the best shopping streets, so its probably good for a coffee and a sit-down.

The staff are friendly and greet you nicely, but the food was rather like a franchised restaurant and certainly not the best we found in Jerez - the drinks were amongst the most expensive.

“A Jerez Treasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Every time we go to Jerez we make sure to schedule time to hang out and feast on creative tapas at El Gallo Azul. My early-on experience with Andalusian food is that it is most often very traditional, relying for its quality on the best traditional ingredients rather than on inventiveness. At Ell Gallo Azul I found my first experience with BOTH componants simultaneously: inventive tapas (along with the Greatest Hits, of course) AND excellent quality ingredients. It's busy enough that the waiters focus on getting the work done and not emoting charm, but I have no problem with that. Great people watching, and good prices. Have a glass of fino, and enjoy.

“Fine for lunch”

Perfectly OK tapas bar with reasonable selection and good service. We had lunch for 2 including beers for 19 euros. Would recommend.

“Great quality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

What a delightful place. Excellent tapas; friendly, prompt staff. Great value for money. On a busy street corner, so plenty to watch. Couldn't fault it!
