“Rustic Getaway !!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2011

We were a gang of 25-30 people from the same office who had visited the property as a day out option. Everything about the trip was perfect starting from the beautiful weather, nice drive and good property. We started early in the morning from Delhi and took us all of 2 hrs to reach the place. Its not too far from the highway and the roads are well maintained. The property itself was huge with many activities and beautiful rustic surroundings. People had fun doing the bullock cart ride, playing games, going into sugarcane field and seeing the surroundings. Good break from the otherwise monotonous and hectic lifestyle. The staff was courteous and helpful, the food was good and the entire fort was well maintained. We had females, kids etc and everyone enjoyed to the core. Good option for a day break.

We stayed over for a weekend in March 2011, having heard good things about the property from friends who had visited in the past. It was probably managed professionally then. It isn't anymore. The palace reeks of neglect and apathy. The staff are courteous and over-worked and double up as housekeeping, chefs, waiters and everything else. It is a good property, on a precipitious decline. Certainly not recommended!!

The place is pretty far out if you are traveling from delhi and the roads are bad. The good thing is that the property is usually isolated so you get pretty much the whole fort to yourself. its ok for a weekend getaway and some of the antiques inside the place are really pretty. the rooms are pretty average though.

this is a nice little getaway from delhi. mind you there is absolutely nothing in terms of places to visit nearby or any adventure activity. the only adventure maybe the bullock cart ride for the city slickers. Dont be mistaken by the term 'fort' its more like a fortified haveli. Food is average or can be disappointing but they try to please you as far as possible. If you want to go there take along a group of friends and try to have a good time.

it was a funtastic getaway from delhi. though you dont save yourself from the heat but, its the location next to a mango orchard. small pool. We were lucky tt no one else was staying there that time so it was like the small resort to ourselves. Food was made as per our liking. Staff was kind to serve tea and pakodas at 2 AM.

Room was average with some AC problems but overall it was value for money.

My wife and I stated at the Mud Fort in April 2006. I was expecting the Mud Fort to be located in the middle of no where but it lies on the outskirts of a busy village and there were people all around. Our room was grandly appointed and clean with attached shower/ toilet and air conditioning but in keeping with it's "heritage" status it did not have any other modern luxuries. We were the only couple to eat in a drab restaurant come television room but we were served with a huge set meal for only 300 rupees each which was quite tasty. The Mud fort has no bar but we did order drinks from reception and sat out on the terrace. The hotel has a swimming pool for residents but it resembled a mosquito breeding pool. The water was green and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned for weeks. There were only 2 other couples that we saw staying at the Mud Fort and the whole place had an air of desolation and dereliction about it. All in all I would not visit the Mud Fort again and I would not particularly recommend it to anyone else.
