“Poor organization”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012 via mobile

This hotel has two faces. The one contains good rooms, decent spa facilities and a good location. The other face contains a poor organization leading to chaotic breakfast, wrong information etc.

We have stayed in the hotel various times and without exception they managed to make a complete mess out of the breakfast. Completely over crowded, uninspired staff. It can happen o ce but not every time. Complaining has no use, no improvement visible and the excuses are from the category "nothing I can do about this..."

A good hotel, but order breakfast in your room.

We had a very nice stay in the hotel with two adults and a two-year old. The place has a good atmosphere and decoration. The room we had was a decent room with sufficient space for a third bed. The first room we were offered smelled of cigarette smoke, and the staff quickly arranged for a new room for us.

The spa was pretty nice. On Sunday we had to share the pool with about 15 local children who received swimming lessons in the pool. On Monday morning they were gone and the hotel pool was as quiet as one would expect in a hotel pool. We did not check the sauna area.

The restaurant had good quality food and friendly staff. We believe the staff could be more proactive. For instance, they forgot to offer to refill a glass of wine during the course. The same was for lunch, when different staff did not offer to bring us new coffee when we had finished the coffee before the actual lunch arrived. By offering they could have sold more wine and coffee, and we would have had a higher appreciation of the staff.

This was our first stay at this particular hotel, and I was a little nervous knowing how bad some Hilton's can be. The pictures didn't give us much faith either, however when we arrived we were very pleasantly surprised. Check in was quick and friendly with drinks available if you wanted while you waited. Our rooms were clean tidy, well equipped. Even our son was given a robe and slippers which was the first time he was included, so of course he was very happy. My sons only complaint was there was no hot chocolate in the room for him, just tea. We stayed for 3 nights, we had free water in the room, again something that UK Hilton's charge for, plenty of shower gel, shampoo etc. The breakfast was fantastic, with so much choice, hot food was bacon egg, beans tomatoes, small potatoes, veal sausages, pancakes. Then all the pastries you could imagine, along with cold meats and cheese, and plenty of toppings for bread and toast, including sugar sprinkles and chocolate strands, which are a big thing in Holland, and my son was in his element. So breakfast was great. We had one meal in the evening when we arrived, which was from the main restaurant. It was pricey however the food was mouth watering. It cost us 185 euro's for 4 adults and 1 child. They do cheaper menu's in the bar, but after travelling for 10 hrs we thought it would be nice to relax. The pool was free as was the Sauna, and steam room, with the highly entertaining Turkish bath of cold water shocks, The Gym was quite good, free as well. Of course it's a Golf Spa Hotel, with a 9 hole course. We didn't play as it rained the whole time. Shopping was good in Amsterdam, we really did enjoy our stay. One thing to note, and the only down point for us, was on the Monday the breakfast doesn't start until 6.30am. We had to leave just before 6am, so we would have lost out on our breakfast we paid for. I asked at reception if they could do us a breakfast bag to take away and they did oblige. However it consisted of 2 very dry sandwiches one ham and one cheese. 2 apples, a bottle of water and a bounty chocolate bar. Pretty useless for breakfast. We thought it may consist of water or juice, fruit, and pastries. So if you intend on leaving early don't forget to check the breakfast times, don't waste your money. Thank you Hilton for a great stay, maybe you should look at this Hotel and make some changes to your very poor UK hotels.

Have stayed here several times for large international workshops. Hotel was designed + built by Shell as corporate learning facility and this is what it is almost perfect for. Very nicely located with very good food, nice fitness and after work amaneties incl.a nice bar. Service and conference organization can be improved with regard to admin and restaurant services, i.e.sometimes a little chaotic or disorganized. Rooms are getting seasoned but clean with very good sleeping quality and nice views almost everywhere.

Am a little late in writing this as actually stayed here in July, this was the third Hilton stayed in as part of a wider trip around the north of Holland/Amsterdam area and was by far the best and i wish we had stayed here for longer than just one night.Facilities also inlcude a golf course, driving range, tennis courts and full health club.

Location wise, you do need a car to get to this hotel as local transport is not that great but the surrounding area is beautiful to explore on foot or by bike once here. Its roughly a 15-20 min drive into Utecht or Amersfoort in other direction, both well worth a visit and only about 45-60 min drive to Amsterdam itself or Schipol Airport. The hotel itself is everything you would expect a Hilton to be, what Hilton's always used to be and sadly, what many are are no longer. car Park is large, safe, well lit and unlike many other Hiltons, free!.

The building itself is well layed out, well maintained, clean, well decorated and stylish without being over the top, reception staff were excellent, both on check in and check out, specifically on check out where the receptionist not only checked my flight details, but then even offered to complete my online check in for me, amazing service!!!! Health Club was superb, great pool, first class facilities and a s clean and as well maintaiend as the rest of the building.Room was excellent, reflective of the hotel. comfortable bed, quiet and relaxing, lovely balcony with view over surrounding forest.

Only negative ( minor) was the service in the restaurant, they really didn't seem to be organised at all, whilst we had to wait over 45 mins for our food, which was bad enough, i saw others waiting longer, others still who gave up and walked out and some confused, poorly trained staff, that said, mistakes were corrected and applogies made so overall no harm done, breakfast by contrast was amazing!, huge choice, high quality products and very very efficiently organsied, was very very busy, but staff moved everyone in quickly, and turned tables round quickly and without fuss, hard to believe it wa sthe same place!!!

Overall, this is one of the best Hilton's i have ever stayed in, both for the quality of the establishment, and the quality of the staff, dinner service aside, maybe it helps to work in such a beautiful hotel, i don't know! :).

Will most definatley be back!

Stayed here 2 nights on business. Interesting location: there's nothing really is Soest but it's in the middle of Utrecht and Amersfoort, they are a 15 min drive, either direction. Parking was free, check in/out was a breeze. The breakfast was ridiculously priced (18.50 euro!) so we didn't get it. There are nature trails, a tennis court, a golf course, a swimming pool and a spa on the premises, so lots to do. Nice bar downstairs with a pool table, darts, and good beer selection--though it wasn't cheap. Internet was free for me but I think it's expensive if you don't get it included in your room rate (~12 euro?). King room was comfortable, modern, nice layout and TV had lots of english channels.

We picked this hotel as an ideal location to travel round the Netherlands. Close enough to Schipol, good to visit this years Floriade in Venlo, not to far from the theme park Eftling etc etc. The hotel itself had lovely clean rooms which were well furnished, a well appointed spa, bar with pool table and darts, a good location overlooking a golf course what more could you want? The problem was we booked multiple rooms for a family get together. Our room was supposed to have 2 queen sized beds, which we thought was ideal as our 15 year old son could share with us without needing a room of his own. We all booked bed and breakfast. This was where it went wrong. On arrival the receptionist confirmed the number of nights and that breakfast was included. On reaching our rooms we found there was a camp bed in a double room which our son would have use. They seemed to have about 3 coach parties in at the time and said there were no other rooms available but we could have 2 complimentary drinks at the bar to make up!! When we got to breakfast we were told this was 22.50 euro each extra! Complaining brought no resolve. While our son went to our room refusing to let us pay this for him (as he can only ever face cereal in the morning) we tried their breakfast buffet, which was frankly an insult. The scrambled eggs were hard and must have been sitting for ages. As vegetarians this and a globulous mound of stuck together pofferjties were the only hot options available. The continental buffet table was limited with some over hard rolls, a poor selection of cereal and fruits etc. Not what you would have expected for such an expensive price. After this we made a trip to the nearest supermarket and stocked up on brioche and croissants to have in our rooms as by adding 78.50 euro for our familys breakfast each day to the cost of our stay would have meant we could have booked into a much better hotel on a dinner bed and breakfast rate! Other family members there at the same time had the same experience with breakfast despite their email confimation clearly stating breakfast included! The coach parties arrived and left in mass hoardes and spoiled the experience we had in the swimming pool and public areas. Our bed was so hard the carpeted floor was probably a better option and at one stage I tried to bribe my son to let me have the camp bed! All in all what could have been a nice family get together was somewhat spoiled.
