“Modern Hotel, Good Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

We stayed in this hotel for one night as we arrived lated at Venice. It was not too far from the airport and with the GPS, we had no problem finding it.

The rooms are not big but spacious enough. The decor is modern and beds comfortable. The receptionist speaks good English. There is a restaurant in the hotel and as many other reviewers have pointed out, also a very good pizzeria just a couple of minutes away on foot. The receptionist will tell you exactly where it is.

The breakfast was also very reasonable and all in all, it is very good value of money.

Definitely recommend this hotel.

We (to adults and two kids aged 6 and 1) had booked a family room (two connected rooms) for €93. Stayed one night after flights into Venice Airport before travelling onto our main destination.

The hotel is a bit away from both the airport and Venice so calling itself Hotel Airvenice is strechting the truth a bit. We had a rental car and had a bit of trouble finding it (didn't bring any good maps). Check-in was fast and easy and the rooms were decent size with a nice sized bathrooms. The "kids" room had a DVD-player and a DVD-movie on the ready (Smurfs) much to the enjoyment of the 6 year old. Both rooms had small fridges.

A supermarked is just behind the hotel, a handful of restaurants/cafes/bars har within a very short walk. Not much to do in Quatro D'Altion itself, but a nice base for exploring the region.

Breakfast had a limited supply of goods, but enough to fill us up. Again the 6yo loved the assortement of cakes and cookies available for breakfast. Babyseat available in the dining area.

I chose this hotel because of its affordability and its proximity to Venice. I had 2 requirements: access to the internet and air conditioned rooms.

The hotel itself is relatively close to the train station (TrenItalia), a high-speed train that travels to many regions for a very reasonable cost. I mention the train because you need to use this mode of transportation to get to Venice and back to your hotel.

The hotel staff are very helpful. Their English is passable to good and that will help should you need help getting directions or in booking reservations for various events. I speak French, English and Spanish fluently, so I have been able to get around with relative ease.

The rooms are clean. The air conditioning is okay, though you may not be able to control the thermostat to your liking.

The biggest problem is access to internet. I brought my handy iPhone with me (in Airplane mode, as I did not purchase a roaming package for Italy). The Wi-fi is virtually useless... I am fortunate enough to be using the single desktop computer in the lobby to write this review.

From within my hotel room, the internet mostly doesn't work, if at times sporadically. You will not be able to upload or download photos, access facebook or make any transactions to reserve or buy tickets. I nearly lost my "Tour Venice in a Day" trip because I had no way of confirming the place, time, day, etc.online

The lobby computer is archaic and its browser does not allow to reserve/purchase tickets (I am an arts lover and had limited time to book tickets for Rigoletto, an opera by Verdi. I also have tickets for Vivaldi's Four Seasons performed by musicians on period instruments and had a tough time communicating online (or on the phone) with Viator.com for details.

Needless to say, it has been a big let-down for me, but the staff have been very helpful in letting me use their behind-the-counter computer to complete these transactions and to print my vouchers.

The breakfast is served from 6:30-9:30 and costs 9 euro: passable. They provided scrambled eggs (bland) and Italian bacon (delicious), plus cereal, yogurt, coffee, juice, Italian sweet-breads. There is a "Simply" grocery store just across the street if you'd like to save and store your items in the very small fridge in the room.

Consider the following:
*Do your research before traveling to Venice
*Get a firm knowledge of how the trains work and ask for a train schedule
*Buy a pass to use the trains if you're going to stay for more than a day or two
*Ask your mobile/cell provider for a travel package so that you don't have to rely on Internet service at the hotel
*Buy sunscreen before arriving in Venice or you'll pay 20 euro for a small tube of it.
*Bring a hat or you just may get sun/heat stroke in June-September
*Keep your passport and important documents in the safe in your room; photocopy them to use while traveling.
*Be conscious of your surroundings, though pickpockets are really not an issue. Seniors and kids carry their cameras, smartphones, iPads and whatnot everywhere they go.
*The trains often do not call your stop, so you will need to be vigilant about where your stop is.
*Vaporettos (water bus) are expensive... buy a 24-hour pass or longer-term if you're staying longer than a day.

P.S. I would add photos to this review, but there is not way to upload without a USB connector to my camera. The computer is, as I said too old to know what an SD card is.

Our group of five stayed in two small rooms, a double and a triple, with nice sized bathrooms. The checkin was a bit stressful, only one person knew what he was doing. Our shuttle from the airport, after we dropped off the rental car was 45 minutes late. We were told we would get a sacked breakfast for our early departure, but then in the am the front desk said they couldn't provide a breakfast. The hotel is actually quite far away from the Marco Polo Airport.

It is close to the Venice International airport with shopping mall near by. If you rent a car at the airport, you can park there for free. Then you can drive to visit the lagoon & park the car at the public garage for a whole day for Euro $27.00. You don't have to paid high priced hotel at the Lagoon.

Superb hotel for the price. We (me and my wife) spent a week on the week ending 15/06/2013. The hotel serves very good breakfast but choices are limited if you are a vegetarian but still not bad breakfast.

Staff at reception will try to help u out as much as they can and especially Michael, He is an encyclopedia. He knows about everything u need to know about Venice and surrounding areas, and speaks very good English.

There is a supermarket less than 50 meters from the hotel which comes in very handy. Couple of good restaurants near the hotel.

Rooms are of very decent size and clean. I will strongly recommend this hotel to anyone. If we go to Venice again, then m sure we will be staying only in this hotel.

Have a good time.
