What a lovely and restful place! Perfect location for a stay in Puglia, easy access from the airport and to the surrounding villages by car. We loved the family-friendly self-catering studio (which gives a lot of flexibility when travelling with a baby) and its private terrace, as well as the tasteful mixture of traditional materials and contemporary style. And Caroline, the owner, had the best recommendations for restaurants, fresh food and cheese stores/farms and sightseeing! Wish we could have stayed at least twice as long…

Caroline has renovated a traditional Masseria with amazing taste, paying great attention to every detail and respecting the craftsmanship and history of Puglia. It is an elegant mixture of the modern and the ancient. Caroline selected some design pieces to fit within the stone walls of the Masseria. She can recommend many secret spots around and is an incredible host.

Her place is just the perfect retreat, among the olive groves, close to the Adriatic and to some wonderful places to eat and wander. The light in this region is such a treat. We were there in the winter and are craving to go back when days are longer and the sun more generous.

We spent a few marvelous days at the Alchimia close to Fasano, surrounded by a small houses and farms. The concept - no food but kitchen - was surprisingly good; there are a lot of nice little food stores around the corner or in the small villages nearby where one can find fresh vegetables, pasta, cheese, ham and wine. In addition, there are plenty of little espresso bars and restaurants with delicious menus in the villages nearby.

Since this masseria is not in the middle of a town and the beach is a few miles away one needs to have or rent a car. Public transport might be another option but we did not try. Finally, a hint for jogging geeks: Running in this region can become a bit a nightmare - not because of the Italian style of driving of which we were carefully warned by the owner, but because of the dogs who seemed never have seen joggers before in their life and prefer to scare them to death. If you do not look like a Arnold a wooden stick for self-defense would be recommendable. Nevertheless, we were extremely happy with this masseria.

Beautiful masseria with nicely furnished rooms. The terrace was a dream. Very helpful host. Bathrooms are starting to look a bit used. A bit difficult to find at first (highway exit is a bit confusing). Only flaw: no breakfast.

Great location for visiting Puglia, in a unique and tranquil setting amongst olive groves with fantastic views of the coast. Truly magical at night, with wonderful design considerations.

Caroline and family are wonderful hosts who really welcome you into the region and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.

Would really recommend this to design conscious couples seeking an escape from city life and romance in a quiet setting! Thank you Caroline for the wonderful red roses on our arrival, a lovely surprise for our anniversary!

We recently spent a week in June in the beautiful Masseria Alchimia - a gorgeous white and perfectly presented hideway. Our accomodation was chicly decorated with all the amentities needed. Indeed our kids loved bathing in the fabulous luxurious lit bath each night. We had a gorgeous private garden/terrace surrounded by apricot and fig trees overloaded with fruit. This is a perfect location to visit the wonderful sites of Puglia and close to great beaches. Caroline is a great hostess offering advise on all aspects to ensure you enjoy a great holiday. She even managed to treat us to a designer retail experience!

This is our 6th visit to Puglia and I can honestly say this is the best accomodation yet. We loved it and will be back. The only thing that would make it even better is a swimming pool.

Thank you Jacqui David Siena and Theo

I've just spent a weekend at the beautiful Masseria Alchimia - the perfect hideaway after a stressful week at work. The appartments are lovingly decorated, with its own terrace and/or little garden. The whole site is situated in a peaceful neighborhood, wonderful landscape. The owner, Caroline, is a real star: she knows the best places for lunch, dinner, afternoon coffee and breakfast. She just knows everything about Puglia, and will give you dozens of tips, make reservation for dinner, etc. The rooms are super-clean and very confortable - nothing is missing. There was even basic cooking things, like salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, bread, jam and honey for the first breakfast. Will definitely come back!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
... more   less
