“Wonderful sea view”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2012

Me and my partner were looking for a nice sea side resort with a great sea view and not to expensive, this hotel gave us both , but don't expect 5 star service, in a two star hotel, the only thing 5 star is the view and the fantastic beach front, the hotel itself had it's day, I can see they tried to do some interior revamp, but it still looks a bit tired, that said it all reflex in the price.
Pool great
Restaurant great
Beds. Good
Would I stay here again? Definitely yes

Room Tip: Sea facing room or front row rooms all have the best views

We stayed at this hotel for two nights and it was a good base for Le Touquet. The hotel is at one end of the main strip in Le Touquet, right on the seafront and we had booked a room with balcony and sea view. We certainly got it and it was a fab view.
The breakfast was very nice and well organised.
The only minor point is that the rooms could do with being modernised. We noticed that the taps and toilet in the bathroom were a very high quality brand but the rooms are quite old fashioned, peachy and mint green. The room was immaculate though.
There was also no air con in the room which meant on the first night we slept with the balcony door open I don't know what other rooms without this option would do.
Parking at the hotel was free and very easy to find a space.

Room Tip: Get a room with a balcony and sea view.

Very pleasant hotel with good facilities including Restaurant and Swimming Pool. Plus the evening entertainment proved quite fun. However even allowing for peak season rates this hotel is not the cheapest.

If you like miles of empty beach, then this is a smashing location. Marleen and I walked for miles along firm sand on almost deserted beaches. So what's the problem? This sounds like a bit of whine but I hope the hotel can take it in good spirits.

The staff were nice, friendly, energetic and helpful. We had experiences which were not serious enough to go to war over at all but here they are.

We were required to book a table for supper which we did with reception. When we arrived for supper, they didn't have our booking in the dining room. Easily enough sorted.

The meal wasn't hugely expensive but expensive enough to expect it to be pretty good. We ordered fish soup which arrived cold (lukewarm). They whisked it away and when it came back it was hot on the outside and still only warm in the middle. Not stirred or checked, just in and out of the microwave. Tasted delicious.

For coffee we also asked for another caraf of water. It didn't come.

They made a big thing of their breakfast for 9 euros. I've stayed at other Ibis hotels (in particular the one in Granville) so I was very disappointed to find they didn't even have some hard-boiled eggs available. The bread was good and we all like Bonne Maman jams and the coffee dispensed from a machine was OK. It wasn't a big deal.

My feeling is that the place needs pulling together. It wouldn't be hard to pick up on these small but irritating failures, particularly as it is quite an expensive Ibis because of its position on the beach.

Typical Ibis hotel with rooms fitted out the same as all other Ibis hotels we've stayed at. However, it's location on the beach, even though it's a good walk to the centre of Le Touquet, with easy parking close to the hotel entrance is excellent and a room with a beach view, with or without a balcony, gives you exactly what it says, but you'll pay extra for this. So if you like the beach and fresh air this hotel might be for you, if not, you can find better value elsewhere.
