If you're looking for a hotel with a pool colder than the English Channel, with a jacuzzi as cold as the Channel, with a TV satellite that only receives 9 stations, with dirty bathrooms, cold British breakfast, with rude reception, and little to no help to find taxi service, then the Holiday Inn-Le Touquet can accommodate you starting at around 200 euros per night.
My girlfriend and I were only staying one night and were excited about the hotel until we arrived. We weren't even disappointed with the exterior-- an ugly facade that looks more like a cheap casino than a resort. Instead, our troubles began in the room we booked. For 180 euros we had two twin beds, a TV that didn't work, and a sticky and dirty bathroom floor. We turned on the TV looking for local news but found nothing. Whereupon, calling the reception desk we were informed that "There is no problem with the satellite." Later we were told there was a storm and in fact the satellite was down. But our taxi driver said that there was no storm earlier in the week and in fact he has never had a good experience working with Holiday Inn. Furthermore there jacuzzi didn't work and they said they could not get a hold of a technician since it was a holiday weekend. This didn't upset them that the guests they had were here for the holiday weekend themselves and couldn't use many of the facilities promised on various websites.
Upon our departure, we called reception to get a taxi for us. A few minutes later they called back and said, "There aren't any taxis, go to the Tourism Office for help." Lousy way to treat guests who pay 200 euros a night. We ended up finding a taxi after only 4 phone calls.
In the end, the beach is beautiful and we look forward to going back. But next time, if all other hotels are full, my girlfriend and I will bring a tent before we stay at this hotel.
