“A great little Brasserie”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2013

As tourist 'traps' go, this one is more than OK. A delightful, well appointed and buzzy restaurant and as deliciously French as can be.

We decided to 'give it a try' as we ambled through the streets of Le Touquet having availed ourselves of some goodies in the wonderful food market.

The place was full and heaped in atmosphere. We had to wait for a preferred outside table so enjoyed a glass of champagne whilst doing so.

That's yet another joy of France, the ease by which a lunch time glass of bubbly fits into everyday life!

We had a wonderful table, great service, fun with the wait staff who all wanted to speak English whilst we wanted to practice our French. These a the small things that make a 'holiday weekend' so memorable.

We shared 3 bowls of mussel & frites between 5 of us. Two were cooked in white wine and one was ordered Provencale. They were simply delicious and utterly plentiful. Add to that a portion of Escargot (for our 7 year old grandson - the next generation of Foodie). Oh, and the Fries - wow.

Wine was easy to drink and inexpensive, coffees excellent.

Reminder to all that the 'conveniences' are, of course, uni-sex. A reminder to us somewhat more 'sedate' English when we take the little ones.

I'd go back to Le Touquet to eat there again. Highly recommended.

“Good breakfast choice”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

Bacon and eggs (best not to mind snotty eggs) or french rolls and jams with orange juice and coffee as well as the usual waffles and crepe options. Quick service and good price.

“where the locals eat.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

We ate in this restaurant early October. We had two meals there at lunchtime. The menu was varied and well cooked .It is not a Michelin starred restaurant but there was a wide choice to suit most people. It gets very busy at lunchtimes mainly with locals as the staff seemed to know everyone.

“Good Honest Food.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2013

Had a mid week lunch here and it was excellent, staff were very friendly and efficient. You can usually tell how good a restaurant is if the locals use it and this was busy especially as it was low season. Food was good quality and plentiful and service was quick. Atmosphere was great and staff didn't rush you. Prices were sensible and the menu large, well worth a visit if your in the town.

“Great lunchtime venue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

We had lunch at Le Matisse and as per our previous visit it was excellent. It was busy but we were seated and served quickly and the food was excellent. Great mussels and the cheeseburger was really tasty!
