We had tea at the Capitainerie and I ordered the warm apple pie with ice cream and Chantilly cream. This must have been the buggest piece of apple I've ever had. Seriously, they are very generous. And it was very good. They have a nice selection of teas.

“Lovely Restaurant in Chateau de Chantilly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

After spending two hours touring this lovely chateau, it was great to sit down for a delightful and tasty lunch in the former kitchens of the chateau - La Capitainerie!! Very nice lunch, beautifully presented with delightful and attentive staff - a great spirit lifter on a rainy day.

The chateau is only 50kms from Paris and very much worth the visit!!

“Lovely food and atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

We only had a short time available to eat but were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. We just had time for a plate of Charcuterie, the best Rillettes de mans I have ever tasted, moist and well seasoned. Superb jambon sec etc. Local cider to drink with it which was delicious. The service was quick and efficient, would love to go back and spend more time at the Chateau and enjoy a more leisurely lunch

“A shame !”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012 via mobile

we've been into this place which pretend to be a Vatel institute cuisine standard and first we were very confused about the organization as no waiter was capable to find us a table on the terrasse even though they were some left. We had to run to the take seats ourselves before we would got passed over by others who arrived in after us. We waited 30 minutes before a waiter could collect our order and we also had to fetch the menu ourselves. After a long wait our table was finally clean up. Then came the desert that we ordered which was a creme chantilly and fruit salad covered with the famous creme chantilly. But instead of bringing to us right away the waiter just put it alongside of the wall under a heating sun (33 degrees celsius that day). We had the go and get it ourselves to avoid the desert a sunbath !!!! The taste wasn't good either ! We didn't want to make much fuss but it was certainly a terrible experience !

I really wonder what have the staff been thought at the Vatel institute ???

One advice ! Just avoid this place !!!
