“Good position”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2013

The hotel is in a good spot, right across from the ferry and right next to the main shopping area. The room is a bit old and out dated so don't expect too much there. I expect it could get noisy at times with the ferry traffic but we didn't have a problem the night we stayed. Breakfast was ok, couldn't get wi fi in our room, so had to go to the foyer each time. Good for a one nighter only I think.

The hotel has a great view over the sea and the harbour. The location is perfect right next to the big shopping street, the breakfast is delicious on the top floor of the hotel on the terrace with a great view. Good hotel for a weekend Frederikshavn

Dette hotel er næsten det værste hotel jeg har opholdet. Værelse er beskidt og grimt (se vedhæftede billeder).

The hotel doesn't earn 4 starts at all! It's an overpriced for what it can offer - 1000,- DKK (ca. 140 EUR) pr. night for a hostel room. We stayed in a standard room (economic class), the room looks so tired and everything is so dirty. The bed carpet and the lamps have stains on it. The floor carpet is worne off with faded color. The beds are uncomfortable, old box madresses. The service level is also low - the receptionist is not very helpful and the restaurant tables are not cleaned frequently.

I stayed here for one night in May 2013.

The hotel is across from the port which is convenient if you're catching an early ferry. The hotel is conveniently located near the main pedestrian area, but note that it is closed on Sunday (which is when I was in town and there was nothing to do).

The room and bathroom was clean, but really should be updated. It is equipped with a big tv, no air conditioner, and soap. Bring your own shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion. The free wifi signal is strong and fast enough for Facebook, Instagram, and emails. Sleep quality was adequate. Don't expect regular beds like we have in the U.S....the hotels in Scandinavia that I stayed at all had padded (foam?) pads over a boxspring. Would I have a bed like this at home? Nope. Is it comfy? A little. Did I sleep well? Yes. Breakfast is adequate with the usual food...bread, deli spread, juice, local goodies, and fresh fruit.

Room Tip: Request a room facing the port.

This hotel needs some refitting and does not deserve its 4 star rating. The room was small, even by European standards. Staff would assist if you waited long enough but they were far from friendly. Worst was the restaurant. Although the breakfast buffet was fine, the dinner was not. They ran out of the only 2 meats -- exceedingly rare roast beef and small chicken breasts. On top of that, there was a 17 Kr. (about $3.50) charge for tap water! Location is good.

It is an "old" building, and it shows in the rooms (at least the one i had) that was too worn to be classifies by hotels.com as 4-star.Fine breakfast buffet with a great view over the harbour.Centrally located.

Not a bad place to stay but stains on carpet were pretty bad. I felt could have been cleaner. Was adequate but that's all
God was nice at breakfast buffet. Had dinner here also and food was good. Also service was good. Convenient for ferry to Gothenberg. Had good and bad points
