“Fantastic experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

No matter if you are just yourself, a couple in love, a large family or a group of friends - this place is fantastic.
Lots of animals to see - some of them free range, so you can get super close to them. It's amazing.
The place is build with a great sense of detail, and has so much to offer, no matter if you're into reptiles, fish, insects or something else entirely!

The new addition - "Danmarksparken" makes this a whole-day experience, with the possibility for children (or adults) to pet a pig, a goat or a sheep, while the grown ups set up dinner at one of the barbeques. When the eating is done, everone can burn some calories on the obstacle course.

Can be recommended for absolutely everyone!

A great experience and totally recommend it. Has a good collection of animals (a lot less animels in winter) and have visited the place 4 times in the last 9 month..

“Heaven for kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

I did not go there with kids, but still I was impressed by what they have managed to build here. A bit different from traditional zoo style. Here lots of animals were flying, walking freely amongst the guests- even some snakes were loose..
If you are in Randers with kids, this is a must

“Good for a dark rainy day, but don't eat there”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

We went in the middle of the week in November. There were no crowds, but no butterflies, either. It was nice to feel the tropical warmth and look for animals in the foliage as we walked.

The food in the lunchroom was way overpriced, and I'm sure most of it was not organic. The $14 burger and fries were awful, dry, and ketchup cost extra, which was ridiculous given the price of the combo. The restaurant was also very dirty, tables uncleared and unwiped although personnel were present, chatting together. This was also the case in the gift shop/ icer cream stand, where there was no one present, as they were all chatting nearby in the ticket sales area. The last cleaner in the toilet had been there at 8:45, so by 2 pm they were pretty messy as well.

Conclusion: The entry price is high but understandable given the high cost of heat and maintenance. Go for the exhibits and the illusion of beinging in a rainforest. It's cheaper than a trip to the tropics. Take your own lunch (there is an area for eating lunch packs) or eat at the nearby MacD if you want a burger.

“exciting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

Informative, but too many visitors, it was crowded all over. Is it really allowed to let so many people come in ?
