“Great Airport Hotel.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

Just down the road from the airport. I had an excellent nights sleep in a nice spacious room.
The hotel is a 10 minute walk from Diegem rail station - two stops and you are in the centre of Brussels.
I did not eat at the hotel , I walked into Diegem - several resturants to choose from.
If the management read this , your receptionist Sarah should be rewarded for her excellent customer service.

Room Tip: Book via Trivago and get a great rate.

We travelled for one day to Brussels during our holiday in France and stayed in this hotel.
The whole place felt "warm", we absolutely loved our stay here. The staff is very friendly, they helped me perfectly finding a doctor. The breakfast was a real treat. It's located just outside Brussels, but the trainstration is on walking distance taking you into the centre of the city in only 15 minutes. All by all a great hotel!

Pros: The staff was extremely helpful right from providing me an early check-in at no extra cost to helping with the customised invoice. Special mention to the airport shuttle driver who was very helpful.

Cons: The breakfast rate is quite steep for the variety on offer.

Room Tip: Take the room on the ground floor as there are no elevators.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights and the bill was over €500. For an airport hotel you normally pay through the nose, but this hotel is missing too many usual conveniences to justify the cost. In the interests of fairness here is my usual balanced review.

The good bits:
Not far from the airport, the hotel offers a free shuttle bus but there is also a large carpark, which is slightly cheaper than the airport's onsite carparks. The lobby area is very nice, as is the bar. The choice of food at breakfast was great, with a selection of bread, cereals, fruit, yogurt and hot foods. There was also plenty of seating in the breakfast restaurant and the staff were very friendly. Our room was average size, with a nice bathroom, a safe and plenty of storage space.

The bad bits:
There was only one person on Reception at any one time, so there was always a queue and no apology for keeping you waiting. The only area available for dinner in the evening was the bar, which was OK, but not great. The hotel operates a paper token system for breakfast, which is neither environmentally friendly nor efficient, particularly as they are hand written by Reception. This, of course, adds to the delays. The hot drinks machine at breakfast makes a good selection of coffee but there is only one and it can only do one cup at a time, slowly. This leads to queues at busy periods.

The ugly bits:
No lifts! Many people had heavy bags as this is an airport hotel. It is only on two floors, but I would not have managed to carry my bag on my own and there was nobody around from the hotel to help. Our bed was dreadful as it sagged in the middle, leaving us both with backache and a poor night's sleep. It was also extremely expensive.

Overall, this is an average hotel, but avoid it if you have heavy bags, which you cannot carry up stairs yourself. Alternatively, request a room on the ground floor.

Booked the park, stay and fly deal. Very good [reliable & complimentary] airport shuttle service - runs every half hour. Coffee/Tea maker in room, as well as complimentary bottled water. Large, clean, modern room. Wi-fi is not free.

Room Tip: It is a large hotel. Our room was fairly close to the reception area - which is nice if you need to...

4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

Stayed three nights, visited family nearby. Really lovely hotel, although room for slight improvements.

Positives - Beautiful entrance and lobby; lovely ambience and decoration throughout; smart but cosy feel; room and bathroom a decent size although not massive; tea/coffee in room; large, comfortable bed; bathtub with rain shower; AC in room and good size plasma television with channels in different languages; complementary bottles of water at the end of the corridor (although no where is this information advertised! - we only knew about it through reading other Trip Advisor reviews); nice receptionist at check-in; friendly housekeeping staff; a regular airport shuttle van.

Rooms for improvement - Not nearly enough choice or quality at breakfast for the €23 price; some of the staff were much less friendly than others, and it was a shame to receive cold food/drink service in the bar one afternoon and observe that a few receptionists didn´t say hello; hotel is non-smoking but there was a slight smell of stale smoke in the room; minibar appeared not to work and was empty(?); very little literature in the room providing information on the hotel.

Beautiful hotel. If there had been better choice at breakfast and a consistent level of friendliness, it really would have been little short of perfect! Recommended and would stay again.

Well, let me tell you that i could hardly make myself leave the hotel to go on and explore Brussels-the hotel was so accomodating, the room so nice, the hotel bar and the restaurant so inviting,... I loved the complimentary water bottles in the corridors, nice touch! The brekkie was fun too, overall a great stay, although the reception staff was friendly, the faxes they were supposed to send, never arrived. But, apart from that, no other complaints!
