“A great business hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2012

I have stayed here numerous times while on business, and it is very good.

The rooms are spacious, and modern, with everything you need - good size desk, TV, nice bathroom and a great coffee machine in each room.

The room service menu is limited, but adequate, although the wait time in the restaurant can be long.

Internet is free, although it does kick you out a lot. It seems unable to cope with the high demand in the week, yet it seemed fine on a Sunday night when I guess there are less guests.

I think it's a nice hotel for that area and cost, and would recommend.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a trip to see Andre Reiu in Maastricht. We spent 2 nights in a twin room. The beds were huge and very comfortable. The hotel staff all spoke excellent english and couldn't have been more helpful, We had a 3 course as much as you want buffet one night at 25euro was good value and very nice. Breakfast was not advertised as full English but there was all the usual continental cold offerings as well as bacon, scrambled eggs, beans, fried potatoes, mushrooms and toast. Again it was a buffet so as many trips as you wished. The only thing I would say is that if you want cold drinks for your room (one small bottle of Evian in room fridge) or your journey take it with you as a small bottle is 4euro. Overall though one of the best "chain" hotels I have stayed in. There was also a swimming pool and sauna etc for guests to use.

Stayed here two nights as part of a trip to Andre Reiu concert, had a comfortable room with good facilities. Food in the evening was very good and fairly priced. Breakfast range was good although ran out of some dishes because of the greedy customers ! Staff tried to keep everything replenished but not always successful not really their fault

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms seemed much quieter

I havnt used the HI for several months and opted to stay there this week due to the EU summit taking over most hotels in the area.
€185 & €204 for the two nights respectively is crazy money compared with the usual €150 and these rates had €6 city tax added!
Compared with similar hotel standards in cologne and other euro cities.....some one is taking us for a ride.
On top of this is a €15 per night parking charge which can't be avoided due to no street parking. At other similar hotels the charge is lower and there is an option to park on street.
All other things remain as before.....unfortunately!
Shower pressure....a trickle
Wifi....now free if you use the code but I found you had to re-register every 45 minutes to stay connected. A bit like stopping your car every mile, switching off and then on again.
And finally breakfast....now he hotel caters for all the cabin crew from Jet airlines the area is packed with their cases and the restaurent resembles a McDonald's at closing time on a Saturday night.
No...it hasnt really changed.

Room Tip: It's all in my review.....

Stayed here with a group in Mid-June. Check in was flawless with at least two attentitive staff dealing with the group, making sure everyone's room was what was requested. The rooms can be reached by stairs or via 2x lifts situated near to the foyer. The rooms were spotlessly clean, very modern and well appointed with toiletries shoe cloth, mini fridge, cofee machine etc.The bath/shower rooms were clean and efficient but had poor water pressure and you nearly had to run around to get wet!!. There was an adequate choice of toiletries provided, and hair dryer. The beds were very comfy, with spare pillows if required. The rooms were very good for the groups needs with ac also if required. Most rooms had a mini Juliette type balcony you could open up the large window and look out over either the car park or backs of buildings, as the hotel is on a business park built for transport transit convenience and not for the scenic view. The hotel is close to the airport so avoid leaving the curtains open with a light on or you will have a 747 circling your roomm!!!. The TV in the rooms was a large flat screen set with English channels available. There was a modern De Longhi coffee/tea making machine in the room the stock replenished when used.Dinner had been arranged seperatly as a buffet option which was worth the cost and well recived by the group. a big thank you to the manage, ment for arranging this....Breakfast were included in the package, and the meals were hearty with reasonable choice. A varity of juices, ceral, cold meats, chese and the usual Dutch style smoked streaky bacon and scambled eggs, fried potatos, beans etc- enough to go round... Overall the hotel obviously caters for the airport trade which is literally about 2km away, the hotel providing a shuttle bnus service to and fro from just outsides the entrance to the foyer.
If you are sightseeing in Brussels or looking for a place to base your Belgian vacation, this maybe is a little out of the city. But it is not too far to the rail staion where a local train takes you into the city in 15-20mins for a few Euros. However, it is a wonderful choice for those making a short stop in Brussels during their travels.
The hotel has several amenities to help the tired traveler wind down. Due the location, there aren't many dining options nearby so a car or transfer into Brussels is necessary if you do not fancy the hotelsd menu. Charlie's Bar at the hotel is the best bet. They have an excellent beer selection and a limited, but good menu.
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I will certainly stay there again if passing through this area.
There is a gym anmd a small swimming pool – which is too short – if you are really planning to swim – forget it, but nice if you want to relax after working in the Gym / coming back from the office.Since the hotel is located far from the centre of the city, I wish they had more information / City maps – they could share with visitors – explaining them how to go to the city, which train can they take and other useful information . But you can manage find it by yourself using the Internet. Overall a great hotel well appreciated by my group, thank you to the staff for their efforts.

Room Tip: Most rooms seemed adequate for your needs

Stayed here on an overnight because of proximity to the airport and what other reviewers say is true ... big rooms, funky decor, very efficient, good bus transfer to/from airport, usual HI breakfast fare. WiFi for me was free because of priorityclub but there are a few gotchas !

1. I arrived very late at night with no shuttle and it was a €18 taxi from airport terminus to hotel. Ouch !

2. My package didn't include breakfast so that was an extra twenty-something Euro ... another ouch !

3. My booking was quite late, just a couple of days before travel and it was expensive ... yet another, but not unexpected, ouch.

So a nice place for a business transfer, but you'll pay for it
