Some very good and some not so good aspects. In many ways, a traditional Austrian village inn and the right atmosphere. The room was clean, spacious, and the beds comfortable, the bathroom likewise clean and spacious BUT the room was not heated before we arrived; There was nowhere to hang coats other than in the cupboard - not ideal when it's wet outside, which it was. It took ages for the hot water to come through in the bathroom on the first night, but from then on it was fine. Dinner was excellent, the beer likewise, the wine good BUT no wines were listed on the menu, the waiter just announced that he had a "Merlot" and so on. Breakfast was poor, with heated up rolls, although fresh rolls could be bought at least in the next village. The water for tea was tepid (though we did get up a bit late!). The owner and his wife were helpful BUT they were only around very briefly. I understand well that a hotel in this location can't support a family, and indeed the staff were friendly and helpful, but not being from the area not much use for ideas about where to go.
(If you do go here in the months between April and end October, you must go to Nötsch, the next village, with its museum devoted to the Nötsch circle, a very important school of Austrian painters in the first half of the 20th century).
