My family recently had a wonderful morning with the Columbia Wetlands Adventures Guided Float tour. We were a group of 3 adults and 5 children aged 4-10. It was a lovely day for a float and just the scenery alone would have made for a wonderful day, even without encountering any wildlife. We were very fortunate to see a wide variety of wildlife. A herd of elk crossed the river right in front of our boat! We were delighted to see a mother bald eagle on her nest and later saw the male sitting atop a tree. We were very excited to also see a golden eagle soar above us. The kids were thrilled when we had a butterfly join our tour and spend about 10 minutes landing on each of the children.
I had hesitated to bring a great camera from fear of it getting wet. I should not have been worried. The boats were very stable and each passenger had a comfortable swivel seat. Each passenger was given a lifevest and the boat had rain ponchos and binoculars on board for those who wanted to use them.
The kids loved crossing the swinging bridge and walking on the floating log walkways!
Thanks to Wally for being such a knowledgable and entertaining guide!
