“Party time.....Excellent.....NOT!!!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2014

Upon arriving, at check in we find that our rooms were both two queens, instead of the one king, and two queens we reserved. In order to fix this, we had to be on a separate floors than our children. Luckily two of those children were over 20 years old, so it was safe to leave the younger ones. Second, our room was right by the main floor elevator, so it was very noisy. The walls are VERY thin. Our lovely neighbors next to us, whom were adults, talked loud, and partied all night. After 5 complaints, I requested a fan from the front desk to drown out the noise at ONE a.m. We had to get up by 6, so it would have been nice to get more then 5 hours of sleep for our wrestling tournament. We had zero towels or wash cloths in the bathroom, so I'm wondering if our sheets were even clean. The HOT breakfast was cold at 6am. After getting zero compensation for our horrendous stay, I cancelled our next Best Western reservations in Kansas City for the end of the month. Never again will I pay money to stay in a Best Western. I should have known, from past experience, but with the reviews, thought it was going to be a great stay. I was wrong. Way, wrong.

Excellent hotel for families.
* Complimentary breakfast (oatmeal, eggs, cereal, bread, cream cheese, sausage, oranges, apples, waffles, yogurt, pastries, muffins, jellies) and drinks (apple, orange, kiwi strawberry, skim milk , 2% milk). Plus nice area to sit down with TV.
*Free Parking
*Pool area was clean. They have 2 pools one is up to 6 feet deep and the other one 1.5 feet deep( perfect for my crazy toddler). They have pool towels.
*Washer and Dryer available for $2.00 each.
*Crackel Barrel is next to the hotel.
*Easy access to St. Louis attractions.

Hotel Cons
*Bring your own soap or shower gel. They have shower gel dispenser in the bath tub but appears watered down.

Handy location off the interstate with a gas station and Cracker Barrell restaurant across the street. Dog friendly. Nice pool area. The staff went above and beyond to help us to our room. We felt very safe in the area and parking was handy.

I am giving this hotel a 4 because even though it wasn't dirty it could use a fresh coat of paint. The luggage carts had 2 flat tires so were very had to pull. Employees were nice & professional but didn't do anything "extra" special.

Keep in mind this hotel offers pet friendly rooms and some smoking rooms.

Breakfast was good... bacon or sausage, hash browns, scrabbled eggs, waffles, fruit, etc. Also a basket of fresh fruit at all times and hot cookies in the evening.

Room Tip: Rooms 301, 304 and 309 are very spacious.

This hotel was clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and the price through TripAdvisor was very reasonable as a last minute booking (booked 15 minutes before arriving!) The breakfast was pretty good as far as free hotel breakfasts go and the set up for eating was decent.

General
- 1st floor hall had a sour smell.
- Carpet is dingy and worn.
- Breakfast was so-so.
- Back door on the first floor hallway had a broken closer......SLAM!

Room
- Sour smell carried into the room. Wife and kids complained to me about it several times. Considering the floor was ceramic and 'pet friendly', I couldn't figure out where it was coming from.
- Sheets didn't fit the bed. Pictures were taken when we got there. They popped off several times during the night and made the uncomfortable mattress a worse experience.
- Reading lamps next to the bed didn't function.
- We were encouraged to use the rear door. I'm sure to limit the pet traffic, which I can understand but every time someone went in or out the broken closer slammed the door and shook the walls of the room. We were 3 rooms down from the door so I can only imagine what it was like next to the door.
- Volume control on the remote didn't work. I hated being the designated TV knob adjuster as a kid and this brought back bad memories.

Bottom line is that with a $10/pet/night fee this hotel isn't a value compared to other options that are in better condition. I'm not sure if I would stay here again.
