“Friendly, easy to find, clean hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

Stayed one night at this hotel while we were away for a wedding. It is very well located (right near the motorway), it was clean and the staff were friendly.

We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to the region for either a stop over or a couple of nights.

Stayed a few times as a result of work. Hotel is ok, standard Premier Inn you could be in any of them. Bar ok next door, hotel staff good, bar staff not so. Breakfast is not great as you have to be served so differs from usual prem inn. Continental is self serve, stay clear of the coffee its grim

The hotel is situated on a busy junction on the East Lancs Road and therefore we were concerned it may be a bit noisy. How wrong we were the hotel sits back from the road and is very peaceful.

The hotel sits on a tranquill lake (Winter months) and is easily accesible, as well as clean and very comfortable.

The staff as usaul with Premier Inn were both polite and efficient.

We stayed for two nights and had a very pleasant stay and uninterrupted sleep on both nights.

All in all the hotel is in a good location and is offers excellent value for money.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the rear of the hotel with lake views.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights at the beginning of March. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are extremely clean. Although the hotel is situated not far from the busy East Lancs road the traffic noise could only be heard if the windows were open. The Waterside, Inn next door to the hotel, provided a good breakfast and on one evening we did have dinner there which was reasonable quality and fairly good value for money.

Before we left we had a very pleasant stroll around the Carr Mill Dam. I would recommend this to anybody who has the time to do it.

There were one or two niggling little things during our stay. Firstly, having been called by the hotel two days before our arrival to ask if I had any preferences about the room, I asked for an upstairs room with a lake view. On arrival we were allocated a downstairs room with a car park view. This was sorted out quickly when I spoke to the receptionist. Secondly, when going down for breakfast on the second morning, 45 minutes before the end of the breakfast session, both the coffee and hot water jugs were empty. The waitress put the kettle on and made an instant coffee ( not exactly the Costa Coffee as advertised).

Room Tip: If you would prefer a lake view room then request an even numbered room. Upstairs room start at 227.

Premier inn at Waterside. The staff are friendly and the rooms are spotless. You can take a walk around Carmill Dam. We were very lucky as we had a view over looking the Dam. Try the Carvery next door very good value for money. All in all in good location for St.Helens or Liverpool.

Stayed here on Saturday 16th Feb the night before the Swansea V Liverpool game all in all wasn't a bad stay but found the room dated and it was suppose to be a family room but didn't agree with a truck bed (Mattress on Wheels) being put on the floor by the side of the bed also we all had mobile phones to charge but there was only one socket

Had the good fortune to book this hotel as we were celebrating a friend's 50th birthday party. Excellent location on the East Lancs Road, convenient for the town centre which is a couple of miles away. Room spotless and although next to a busy road, there were no problems with traffic noise. The receptionist was faultless directing us to the town and explaining the best parking spots, really welcoming and friendly, she also ordered us a local taxi to take us to the party.
The pub next door was also excellent, warm and congenial, had a couple of drinks and also had a sandwich which was very nice, big screens for the sports fans.
Overall great stay, well done.
