Stayed in the hotel whilst visiting friends in the area.
On arrival, the receptionist was very friendly, and i checked in no problems.
The room was very clean and comfortable, but at night it did get quite warm, but the staff did bend over backwards to help me.
Breakfast was very relaxed, and the young girl with curly hair (can't remember her name tho!) was very friendly, and only too happy to help when i asked for some directions into the town centre.
The staff are the greatest asset that the hotel has, if the air conditioning was fixed, i'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

We stayed at the hotel as we were attending a wedding held there. We booked a suite at a great rate of £115 for the night including breakfast. The room was ok, I was disappointed that there was only a standard double bed in the suite and that it had a very firm mattress, very uncomfortable. Upon arriving at our room after the evening reception, approx 1.15am, we were met with what sounded like a helicopter landing abouve us. Called down to reception and someone came up, He didn't know where the noise was coming from, he went back downstairs to speak to the manager. After 10 minuets the noise stopped, I was then called to check that the noise had stopped, I said yes, there was still an underlying noise, but it wasn't as bad. Tried to sleep, didn't do very well the bed was so hard. The noise then started up again at 6.30am. I was unable to get anymore sleep. breakfast was fine. I did advise reception when I checked out regarding my problem and was advised that she would get maintenence to check out the problem. I went home to sleep. I take exeption at not being able to sleep, I had paid extra for a suite and was looking forward to a little extra comfort and a good nights sleep. I did not get this. Avoid room 314. I would just like to say that the staff were all very helpful.

What a disgrace! This is the worst hotel we stayed in, in the UK. The air con failed (staff tell me for 2 years!) and windows do not open. Stinking hot, unbearable.
We had to change rooms as the wire was coming through the mattress! 2nd room was no better. Wet stains on the bed spread - what was that?!
The shower curtain was smelly, mouldy and dirty, and the bathroom stunk like a public toilet.
Peeling paint, and holes worn through the carpet. I took photos for my travel agent. Do not stay here, it really will disappoint and ruin a holiday - it's that bad.

Stayed here for 2 nights, no complaints. very clean .breakfast was very tasty
Being so near the town centre the location was excellent as was the closeness to Liverpool and Manchester
