Avoncroft Museum is a wonderful resource, established by people of good intention and a display of the tragic policies of shortsighted Councils and Planners from the 1960s to the present day. The collection of Tudor, Georgian, Victorian and 20th Century buildings is varied and interesting. From a Windmill to a Jail cellbock over to a Prefabricated Church and a Showmans Wagon the Museum offers much. The tea room located in the lovely Half Timbered entrance building is well worth a visit also. I was not in agreement with the new display explaining and justifying "why" town planners destroyed so much, In many cases I would argue greed and ignorance was the driving force, however if it was not for this museum much of our past would be lost forever, a very good day out, wonderful staff also!
