Like many people revisiting/reviewing the Queen’s Head Stoke Pound/Bromsgrove I have known this pub for some 50 years. From its legendary Sunday carveries through its disastrous re-launch to it’s current transformation. The Queen’s Head has finally arrived as a serious contender to the Gastro pub scene in this area.
Looking for a special venue to celebrate my daughters returning to their respective universities, I took the advice of my middle daughter & returned to familiar pastures. What a fabulous choice. Arriving early to take advantage of an early dining discount, by 7.00 o’clock on a sunny Tuesday night it was rammed with an eclectic mix of diners.
Polite, attentive knowledgeable staff, great location, adjacent to the canal, with a fabulous garden refurbishment including a Tepee for quiet relaxation, amazing ambience topped with super food.
Good salad bar, crispy duck salad was amazing, Pizzas were very tasty & filling, Sea Bass was tops & the Eton Mess was to die for, we all ate to excess.
£65 for four hungry adults including all courses & drinks represented fabulous value for money.
No regrets & we will be back. Great canal side location, just a stones throw from Redditch & Bromsgrove just about a mile from Morrison’s Bromsgrove.
On last night’s experience, booking would be advisable
