“Passable!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

Stayed here a few times visiting the family when in the UK so it has been handy located just off the junctions serving M40 and M5. I have not posted reviews before and previous stays have been a bit hit and miss hence the 'Average' rating.
Thankfully this trip managed to bag a suite, only drawback was the location next to the gym and constant traffic plus some extremely noisy children attending a function who were apparently beyond parental control and running and shouting in the corridor outside until quite late and again early the next morning.
If you have a lot of luggage then request a ground floor room as there are no lifts and you have to negotiate stairs plus fire doors, tricky.
Noted other reviewers comments and luckily for me I was provided with the amenities due as a Diamond card holder. Biscuits were still missing from the tea tray though!
Pleasant enough room, heating somewhat antiquated and bathroom on small side are other minus points.
Noted this trip as well as the last, long time checking in at the desk with one receptionist struggling to cope and this was on a Saturday afternoon and also problems again with receiving telephone calls from overseas. My wife had to revert to calling my hand phone as she could not get past the automated system, not good when you are trying to conduct business with overseas clients either!
Did not dine in this trip preferring to eat out, there are some good country pubs within driving distance for alternative choices and Bromsgrove town is also nearby.
Breakfast was ok, standard Hilton buffet fare, Sunday morning pretty much a bunfight!
I would give the suite an above average marking for its size...

Room Tip: Go for a suite on the ground floor but you could end up next to the Gym!

Thanks for your time and feedback after your visit. Glad to read we could find a suite for you, we do only have 2 so they go pretty quickly and most weekends especially. Sorry to read about the noise, my apologies for the inconsiderateness of other people.
When the hotel was built, I am not sure why they didn't put a lift in, but with only 2 floors, ground and first, we are always happy to assist anyone with luggage.
At weekends we can have very busy check in periods and if a guest seeks assistance, it can take some of the team away from checking other guests in. I will work with the front desk team to find ways of overcoming this challenge.
Our suites are quite large and even our standard rooms are 30% bigger than the UK average. We must apologise for the unusual design and our small bathrooms though. Quite tight with a bath and shower in there.

Thanks once again though for your time

Michael

Nice clean comfortable hotel - as other guests have siad expensive coffee/car parking fees etc. Was disappointed to discover on arrival no step in shower room having specified this in booking. Was necessity as guest had just had operation on leg so big inconvenience. Given a disabled rrom with adjoining door. Young children left alone in room caused lasge disturbance phonibg room and knocking door. When spoke to receptionist she was most rude and unhelpful (unprofessional actally) which we complained about and the Duty manager Sergio responded quickly and efficiently to deal with our complaint.

Room Tip: Pool and gym on ground floor so ask for a nearby room if using

Thanks for your time in giving us some feedback after you stayed with us, we appreciate your time. In our hotel we do have accessible rooms but no walk in showers as yet. It is something we are looking into, but unfortunately don't have any timescales for as yet.

My apologies for the inconsiderateness of other people who disturbed your stay, glad to read Silvio was on the case for you and our other guests. I will have a training session with all the front desk team, so that they can all be a little better when dealing with a compliant about noise.

Thanks once again

Michael

We booked for an overnight stay with breakfast and dinner included as the hotel had a pool and leisure facilities. The room was spacious and clean, no complaints there. The issue is that they seem to put a charge on everything from car parking to a bottle of water in your room £3.95. There is a Costa coffee on site and a regular americano cost £4.40 this seems very excessive. Also bar drinks are extreme with a soft drink for our granddaughter costing £3.40. My feelings are that this hotel is designed for business people on expense accounts.
The food was good with enough choices even for a fussy child.
The leisure area was ok for the purpose but looks like it is ready for upgrading.
Overall we felt that the Hilton brand fell a little short of our expectations

Stayed here for two nights for a family wedding which was held nearby. Nice spacious rooms. Lovely reception/ bar area. Good choices for breakfast. Friendly staff. Unfortunately didn't get time to check out the pool/spa area

The position of the Hotel on the M5, M40 and M42 junctions (M6 is 20 minutes away too, M1 an hour away) makes this the perfect location.

Lots of business meetings go on at this hotel. You can meet casually as we did over coffee in the lounge and still get the most out of the meetings

The hotel is another tired hotel that need the room sorting out. The food was pretty average but then the breakfast tend to be quite good.

Great for business but if you are looking for somewhere near to Cadbury World I personally would choose a more kid friendly place

I did leave a scarf here about 3 or 4 weeks before and it was still there. However they could have called me and let me know and posted it to me!

Thanks for your time and feedback after your recent visit to our hotel. As you say our location is very good for people to meet up in and our lounge gets quite busy as a result. Sorry to read you felt the room and food could be improved, if anyone's not happy with anything, we are more than happy they advise us at the time and we can seek to put things right there and then.

Through the week we are a corporate hotel, but at weekends with up to 60 children staying many weekends, we do become a family hotel. And cadbury world is a popular destination from here.

Glad we had your scarf after you left it here, I trust we did send it out to you in the end.

Thanks once again for your time

Michael

I have stayed on several occasions here simply to enable my children to enjoy the pool here....which they do. Nice sized rooms and nice food in restaurant. The children eat free too!

Well priced if booked in advance, which I did.

This hotel was booked as part of a cadbury world package deal. The whole experience was fantastic value for money. The room was of a good size, clean and comfy beds. All meals were of a high quality and due to having one evening family meal for free and kids eating for free on the second evening meal, we had high qualitymeals for a small price. I would have no hesitation in staying at this hotel again.
