“Burn those childhood BEANS, great site for this”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2011

Went with the almost 5-year old, to burn some (energy) beans....as ever, he did. A lovely site, with limited signage...but hey, worst places to be lost. Great facilities and lovely shop. Take the scooter as children have LOTS of space to use it.

“A beautiful park.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2011

I love this park, a little expensive to go in, but well worth it if you go for the day and take a picnic. We went in the summer, but I bet it's stunning on a cold, crisp, sunny winter's day too

“Really enjoyable day”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2011

Visited on an unusual hot day for first of October. £6.60 per adult plus 40p for a map, worth getting a map and following the route so you don't miss anything. Lots to see, walled garden, grotto, tower, turkish tent, huge cedar tree, large lakes, plenty of wildlife. Entrance to tower is on left of main door, worth going to the top. Outstanding views all around the park and photo opportunities.
Cafe, toliets, shop by main ticket office, other toilets in tower. No other kiosks for food or drink, we took a picinic but wish we took more to drink as long walk all the way round to get back to the cafe.
On the whole a lovely park, great for walks with plenty of benches, places to picnic.

“This Side of Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2011

This landscape park is a gem. The restoration work by the trust who run it is of an amazingly high standard and scholarship. The staff and guides are well informed and clearly engaged in the project. The landscape is a wonderful insight into 18th century ideas about art and beauty...make sure you walk it the right way so you see the views as they were intended. This was a carefully planned route and you will experience the landscape at its best if you follow it correctly rather than just wandering! The grotto is a delight, also Gothick Temple, Turkish tent and many other excellent features.
Informative map/leaflet, guide book available. Cafe and shop. Would be good to visit year round.
