“Service is slow”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

Dont get me wrong, the food here is a great and there is a great choice for a good price, but the service is painfully slow and nobody seems to care about you.

the manager served us because there didnt seem to be enough waitresses's, and even then the service wasnt up to par. we were kept waiting for menus, waited for food, waited for the bill and waited to pay, in the end i went to the bar to pay.

We went with a baby, and were put on a massive table (not needed) in a part of the restaurant that was out of the way, as if they were trying to hide the bay incase it made noise/mess.

great food, crap service and management

“Why all the complaints? Good food and served quickly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

Maybe we were lucky, but we got in and had a 2-4-1 type deal and the service was very good, more efficient than I expected after reading earlier reviews.
I think we only paid £25 for two meals, and drinks....
Perhaps going early evening helped?

“Trying to be Jamie's”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

I'm not a big fan of Jamie's, this place tries to be another Jamies. The menu looks like and is laid out like Jamies. Whats missing is the cooking ability. Microwaved food, scalding hot on the outside, stone cold on the inside... Over cooked steak. Not great I'm afraid.... and overpriced to boot...

“Excellent lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

I have been here on 3 occasions over the last 3 to 4 months and every visit has been excellent. Service very good, attentive and charming waitress on the last 2 occasions. The superfood salad is lovely, just the right size for a lunch, filling but not bloating! Coffees, wine all great. They have an offer on at the moment that if you bring your last receipt you get 10% off your next meal, well worth it.

Food is a little pricey but then this is cobham. My parents had a meal off the specials on the last visit. My father said the smoked haddock risotto was the best he had ever had, the portion looked generous and he was very pleased. my mother had the butternut squash gratin, again very generous and the waitress very kindly brought a bowl of rocket leaves to accompany it. We weren't sure if this was part of it but we were not charged extra.

We noticed that the restaurant was much busier than the last 2 previous visits so they must be doing something right.

“The taste changed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

We frequent Wild Wood and it used to be a guarantee that we will enjoy the food. But in our recent visit, the tiger prawn pasta was bland, and the chicken/mushroom risotto tasted too lemony. Disappointing. The pizza remained yummy.
